I say once again Father open my eyes
no matter how I try can't find the prize
dare I state my back's against the wall
with no one to depend on so it's you I call
always blanking out on that I am blessed
'til I call your name to get out of some mess
I will do better at home as well as at work
help me this last time and I'm back in Church
a brother I.O.U's are piled way past a few
but who am I talking to this ain't my debut

went to bed with a heavy heart
exhausted from all of my frolics
then out of the blue I dreamt of you
hadn't in a while awoke feelin' pained
rippin' and runnin' only dwellin' of self
once I put on the brakes out came guilt
no time for nonsense like a concsience
should have been there for you proper like
that's why I toss and turn every night
seems like I just be runnin' out the clock
with others to consider I got to stop
need to ask for forgiveness I need to repent
I don't read my Bible just stare at the prints

Thanks, Skater - appreciate being appreciated, sometimes when you're going through a thang. It helps to write about it and sort it out some. I'm flattered that this piece got you a bit misty, but then you have always been deeeper than the average soul, which speaks volumes about you as a person.
