They are friends and Nas is not hot right now. Nas sells because he has a loyal fanbase, but he's not the it rapper.

Funny thing is, he sells more then most of the "it" rappers your talking about.

I.E.. Soulja boy #1 single for a couple weeks, still didnt sell what nas sold first week yet.

Nas sold more records then rhianna,& timberland and they had monster hits, just something to let soak in. Hhid stands at 900k at the moment

As long as Jay Z is running Def Jam you will not get anything of substance out of Nas. I don't know why Jay Z felt the need to sign him anyway other than to feed into his longtime obsession with Nas. Nas is going to keep playing Jay Z until they run him off of the label.

JD is a clown. He hasn't had a certified hit since Welcome To Atlanta and that was mainly Luda's doing.

so? so should he not work with him nomore just because he said he's not hot anymore 2-3 years ago? its nas, he could sell 10 records and producers will still want to work with him because its nas. nas is the only rapper who can drop ANYTHING and it will sell records, his fan base is so loyal that he could drop a Acapella album and it will sell 600-650 thousand albums. i think what jd was saying is that the days of Nas sellin 1.5-2 million albums has passed, but thats all on Nas, it aint because he aint hot nomore, its because he purposely doesn't make that type of music. if nas went in with timbaland and pharell and actually wrote the music from a lighter, funnier perspective I guarantee he'd sell 1.5 million, easy, because he's nas.
