Ok so I'm trying to produce beats as a hobby.
I was bumpin that Co Co Brovas Super Brooklyn and was wondering how the hell do you rip audio sound from nintendo and other game systems?
I have an o.g. sega master system with alllll the games in rom format on my computer.
I've been wanting to sample space harrier, sonic the hedgehog and some other ****.
How do you get sh1t off video games?
P.S. I only have fruity loops, no reason or nothin!

you're gonna need a wave editing program (something like "cool edit" they changed their name though)
i think the easiest way would be to search for the music on the net. once you find it you cut it in the wave editing program, make a loop, chop it, or whatever. then you dump it in FL and you add stuff to it.
Since you have the games in rom format it might be possible to just get the songs from the file (i don't know how this works).
third option would be to put on the game, and to record the sound playing directly in the computer. i forgot how to do that though. you have to go in the sound options in your control pannel and then in the recording section. but i forgot how to do it exactly cause i only did it once. like i said, the easiest way would be to find it on the net.

what's up man...
I used to do shyt like that all the time, and I refused to pay for that expensive useless gear too.
hear's what you have to do.
First get what game console your going to need and look at what TV hook-ups it has on the back. IF it has a RCA port then things are going to be easy. IF it doesn't, then you're going to need an extra step.
Consoles with RCA hook ups:
1) go to radio, frys, or whatever, and buy a RCA (red, white and orange) cable and then get a Y-connector that connects male RCA to Male 1/8' inch (head phones).
2)Connect the RCA cable to the console and connect the Y connector to the RCA cable
3) locate the "audio-in" port on the back or front of your computer and connect the 1/8' inch to the "audio-in"
4) turn your computer on and then locate your audio mixer (Start menu=>accessories=> entertainment)
5) then go to the "options" menu and adjust the volume for "recording"
6) go back to the menu with faders and select "line-in" to record.
Now should be able to use any free program to record the audio.
If the console lacks a RCA port you can do one of two thens.
THe sega genesis, and handhelds consoles have head phone ports. All you'll need is the appropriate male-to-male wire.
older consoles like the Atari only have RF out ports. You'll have to buy a TV card for your pc. OR, you can do it the way I did. I just hooked the console up to a VCR and connected the VCR to the computer using RCA cables with the steps listed above.
Using ROMs is the Cleanest way to sample games though. There wont be any sort of noise in the sample.

I have 0 consoles and ALL ROMS and Emulators.
Would you happen to know how to do it if everything is already on the hard drive?

you can download it from here
basically what it does is record any sound that comes from your computer but it picks up everything so say if you are recording something from a youtube video or video game and you start clicking on things in another window/tab it will pick up the clicking noises as well
