I see some for a decent price on craigslist with the stand and bench.(300 bucks and under at times) for the 52lb ones. I can buy some bigger sizes because I need some heavier bells also. I really just wanted some feedback on durability if anyone has firsthand experience.
I am planning to buy some stuff for my garage and I think these would do me good since they dont take up alot of space. I still need an elliptical and a olympic bench/weight set with squat rack.
I really would want to get the 1090 set that goes up to 90lbs,I don't really need anything heavier than that for dumbbells..I can use the straight bar for heavier shrugs and such. They retail for like 500:huh:

^^^^I GOT THESE POWERBLOCKS^^^ they goto 90lbs in 2.5lb increments

I just got the powerblocks on hold from this dude. 90lb set with stand and a bowflex bench for $400. I tried them out yesterday and I liked them alot, weight change was fast and they felt sturdy. They fit back into the cradle alot better than the bowflexes did. I liked the ironmasters alot too...you get alot for the money...I think Ill cop their bench after I sell the bowflex one Im getting in this deal
http://www.powerblock.com/competition2.html
look how long the bows are in comparison
I read too many horror stories about the bowflex ones, plus they are too long if you get the 52 or 90lb set on certain exercises...the warranty is shotty also...but they look so damn good
"They are good space saving dumbells. I have had mine for 5 months and already both of them have broke. If you drop them when there is a lot of weight on them, like say 50lbs. at the wrong angle, they will brake. The little discs that are connected to the handle part that hold the plates on will snap off like a graham cracker. I completely forgot to send in the warranty registration when I got them, so I am screwed. If you must have these, and dont work out until failure, and set them down gently everytime you use them, theyre for you"
"The Bad: 1) Cost, but a full set of dumbbells to cover the entire range these offer and a rack to hold them wouldn't be cheap either. 2) If you workout to muscle failure, guiding the dumbbells back into the rack can be troublesome. 3) (Why I returned mine:) The dumbbells are long enough to prevent *me* from ideal form during exercises using both dumbbells in close proximity: upright rows, bicep curls, etc. Depending on your build, YMMV."
"have owned these dumbbells for almost a year. They are convenient, nice looking, easy to use; perhaps, a little too bulky for some excersices, so they in the way. Now about an accident that happened to me last week. As I was doing chest flys, weight from one of the dumbbells came loose and almost killed my dog, who has a habbit of lying next to the bench while I am working out. Obviously, it came completely unexpected, especially, since, I have never dropped or abused in any way."

These shyts is the truth.did chest..flat.incline decline, flys and incline flys..I just need a better bench. This bowflex 3.1 bench aint cutting it..incline is too steep, decline feel akward, but ittl work till i get the iron master bench.
Once I get my power rack and ironmaster with attatchemts and a used barbell set Im good.
craigslist saved me so much money..I may get the 130lb addons eventually but the 90s are ok for now
*edit*
decline is ok now, i got my foot into a better position...but incline needs another setting
this for the win one more time

well your body weight can press the metal into the door frame and eventually make a dent into it even tho its padded...kinda like when you move a table from a spot where it was sitting on carpet, it leaves that indentation...it can do that. Id email the seller and find out if the product can cause any damage
If i dont get that attachment for the bench Ill drill into my garage or buy a power tower, but that attachment will save me alot of space

I did legs today along with forearms and abs
http://www.powerblock.com/dumbbell-exercises.htm
Took about an hour, I did 10+ reps and some long breaks at times. I felt nausea which was good, drank a shake and was fine after.
I thought the forearms would be a bit weird, but it wasnt bad. Ill do arms tomorrow or even later tonight. Im enjoying these things.

Well I tend to use machines for legs @ the gym alot of the time out of laziness, but now I have no other choice.
Being able to change the weights so fast for certain exercises was good.
check this shyt out tho, I wana cop this off this dude..I dont need all of it at all. Id want the bars up front and weights so I can do some deadlifts and straight bar curls...but for the price cant go wrong

Actually thats my favorite form of cardio. I actually gave my boy my rope yesterday until his buddy lee jumprope arrives. Mines not weighted tho, its a plain plastic reebok speedrope. If I jump rope alot I drop like 10-15lbs because I get carried away trying to do tricks. Theres still alot of shyt I wanna be able to do with the rope that I can't
*gets mad at the 12yr olds on the buddy lee site*

Just check craigslist and save alot of money. I saved about 400 dollars on my purchase. My dad wants a bowflex so he can do some activity when hes in Florida, I found a weider crossbow on there Im going to look at for $125 to put in his townhouse.
Craigslist>>Ebay to me at this point
It's an improvement over the original Bowflex piece-of-crap machine... but I'll still take a gym membership over a home-gym any day of the week.

Yeah, my dad is here like a week or 2 every 3 months so a machine is perfect for him,he's 63, he has a membership where he lives tho.

Nah, some do ship or deliver, but its like the classifieds so more than likely you gonna have to meet up, its easy to in your area. Same way ebay has local pick up available if its in your area with certain sellers.
I met the dude in the mall parking lot about a hour away from me, it saved me driving 3hrs to get it or $XX on shipping.

Its only 4 positions
incline- way too steep, incline chest damn near becomes shoulders
thats the main problem...incline should be about 30-35 degrees not 45+, too much emphasis on front delts.
The flat, decline and upright is ok, but the seat itself doesnt move, so I cant tilt it upward if need be.
