My gym is in the place I work at. That's my only reason.
You just gotta motivate yourself man. Or have somebody do it with you.

Motivation(or lack thereof) is one of the biggest reasons alot of folks don't workout. I tell people thats two type of people in all this: self motivating people(hardcore heads), and need-a-partner-to-motivate-them kind folks. But I have known some people that became self-motivating with time, started off as someone that needed someone else to get them up to throw weights around.
If you are having problems motivating yourself. Holla at one of your friend coworkers and try to set up a workout routine/schedule with them(if any of them workout, that is). Or holla at one of your boys(if any workout) to start hitting the gym together. Or just grit your teeth, and go on 'head by yourself.
I've been going to my gym on and off since 10th grade (I'm a Junior in college now)
In the beginning I hated going because I didn't have a car so I'd have to wait for a ride from someone in my family, and the next year when one of their cars opened up that I could use for 2 hours.
Best motivation for me is music, followed by the results I've gotten after completely changing my diet / lifestyle since July 4th, 2005.
Gym music sucks, but if you got great music on an mp3 player or cd player, it'll help alot.
Also there's a few times a month where I just get sidetracked on a day, or after work I have absolutely no motivation to go. You know what, just driving your ass over there will do the trick, once you're there you'll feel much better about it.

Being around women and hearing shyt like, 'wow u got bigger', 'have u been working out?', 'mmmm what cologne is that'
it gives me time to think/my own space wen am not working or at Uni plus it's healthy

I live in the chi too. I work out about 4 to 5 times a week. always at least 4 times a week. but what I found that works best for me (since I work m-f as well) is to get up real early before work (5:30). I ride my bike to the park (about a mile). run 16 laps and then ride home. sometimes I ride to work. perhaps 2 to 3 times a week since I only work 6-7 miles from my crib. I can make that trip in about 30 minutes and it takes me 20 minutes to drive to work, so the difference is time, is almost negligable. I might lift weights only 1 or 2 days a week. I have to go to the gym to do that, and their hours don't usually accomodate me. so I dont lift weights that much. but, I'm all about cardio and just staying fit. not getting swoll. y don't u work out early mornings so u can get it over with? If you can get used to that kind of routine with getting up early, its pretty easy to get your work out in daily.
get you an ipod or mp3 player and you good.
definitely a must. I refuse to run on the track without any music. sh*t is horrible.

force yourself. im doing a minimum of 45 hour weeks, and at work im not just sitting down. im running errands all day... but i just put it in my head that i gotta keep up with it. after awhile its all part of the routine. if i dont get at it for several days, i actually start to feel like a slob, so i get myself going again.
but music is a fukkin savior. my ipod was one of the best investments over the past year. little did i know some couple hundred dollar thing has helped me get into the best shape of my life.
and i was about to give up awhile back, expecting some quick results. but i just kept myself at it. several months after the fact, i was noticing results. but the reaction im getting from people i havent seen in awhile, coworkers, and the opposite sex is whats really hood.

make sure you get a gym close by you or you will never go. Everytime time you feel lazy go to a mirror and stick out your fat gut. that is another motivation.
the best is if you got a friend that can go with you.

Yea I'm in my last year of college and I've had to start toning down my routine because I know when I get out it's gonna be harder to get the same workouts in. I've been able to manage the same routine during my summer internships where I worked a 9-5. But I know how hard it can be after a mentally exhausting day. However every time I reached the gym and got my first set out the way, the energy and adrenaline would return and I would be focused on crushing the weight in front of me.
My motivation is to simply stay as healthy as possible for as long as I can. I've reached the point where I'm happy with my physique and I want to maintain it. Had you asked me this question three years ago, my motivation would have been to become the biggest dude on campus. Now I'm just content with where I'm at.

My motivation is basically girls and fear. I know niccas on SOHH say they ain't scared of muscle bound niccas but people in the real world think twice. When I walk up I love the looks I get from other niccas girls. Then I noticed when I got muscles and I took my shirt off when I am ready to poke somethin girls immediately kiss my stomach and give me head.
