Should I cop fruity loops, acid, or rewire?

everyone is gonna tell you something different.
I'll suggest Reason.
the drawbacks
- you can't record external audio (live instruments, vocals)
- you can't use VST's
advantages
- endless sound creation
- redrum is a great setup for drum tracks
- NX-NT and NN19 are great samplers (you can chop, pitch shift..etc)
- solid factory sound bank included (millions of free patches online)
- very low system resources (does not require alot of RAM/CPU to run)
- You can use the Rewire function to connect with protools/cubase/logic/etc
- M-class mastering suite built in, as well as a ton of other effects to add to the rack (aka endless sound creation)
Fruity loops can do pretty much anything if you know what you're doing. I have never used acid but some people swear by it.
good luck. you're better off making the transition before selling.

You could cop FL and ReWire Reason into it. Either way it goes, to get the MPC feel you'll need MIDI.
Depends on what you're tryin' to spend. FL is $600 for the works, and Reason is $500.
Both have advantages (Reason synths & FL better sequencing).
Reason has the better catalogue of sounds.
I'd go with Cubase SX. Reason is not a complete DAW and Fruity Loops; while full-featured and extremely powerful; is not nearly as intuitive interface-wise as daws like logic, cubase, protools, etc.
Cubase gives you the best of everything from composition to master. Added bonus is a native implementation of the VST standard from the authors themselves, Steinberg. Sonar deserves a look also. I lived and died by sonar prior to moving to cubase.
Whatever you choose, you're going to love all that screen real estate you have, vs. having to orchestrate your multi-track arrangement on that tiny little vacuum flourescent display.

I have Reason already and the I'm selling my mpc becasue I just don't have the room for any hardware anymore. I need more of a simple set up to get busy with. I reviewing all of the options now.
