Probably like 1 every 2-3 days. I work third shift so I get home and wanna sleep. Not to mention I gotta deal with alot of **** going on in my life like going to college soon, my girl, my fam, groceries, bills, **** like that...I just had a nephew born a week ago so I been making time to spend with him...buy him things. So yeah, on a good day, I can start a beat and knock it out in about 3 hours, IF I have nothing else better to do. Sometimes I'll start like 3 or 4 beats and come back to them days later. I've got beats I haven't touched in years. I feel that in about 4 years of making beats, I have been able to go through the entire process of making a NICE beat in about three hours. That means cutting the sample, which can take anywhere from a few minutes to about 20 max (Ya'll know I like to chop 'em up as much as I can). I've gone as far as to cut one song up into about 40 different pieces. I say out of those 40 I'll probably use a good five or six. Then I have to play with those pieces to come up with a nice melody or something. It takes a lil' while to come up with something I can satisfy MY OWN ears with. Sampling is like taking a picture, cutting it up into pieces, and then rearraging it to make a totally different picture. I'm my own worst critic so if I don't feel it in the first few minutes, I'll delete that **** with the quickness. So next, I'll put them pieces together, add my own drums or go through my stash of breaks and see if I can match some drums with the beat. If I can't I'll add my own. Next I go through the mix, adjust it, then "master" the final mix. I've got my own process that every one of my beats goes through to become my final product. Basically I run it through a series of several programs like Cool Edit to normalize my beat and make sure it NEVER peaks. Then I take into ___________ (program I WILL NOT mention...can't give away all my secrets lol) and take out any hisses, pops, scratches, irrelgularities, defects, whatever you wanna call them. I know you can do that in a number of different programs but this one has been the best IMO because I've used alot of programs myself. Then I take that version and run it through T-Racks. Anybody who who something about T-Racks knows that it is VERY useful in helping you come up with a good final mix/ master for your beat.

it's like therapy to me, so i don't over do it.

some days i'll start 5-6 beats, maybe get 1-2 dope ones out of it and listen to / tweak it for a few days. when i make a dope beat it kinda stunts me, and i'm stuck listenin to it rather than making other ****.

the last beat i made was this monday...

i guess to beats per session. i never leave the lab unless i at least have t beats and i make sure those beats are totally different (bpm, style, sounds, etc) I cant say i really master them that much cause i kind of have add when it comes to trax. i really try to keep it movin. I actually start on about 5 beats per session but i make sure i mix, punch in/out 2 beats.

I do about 1 beat a week, sometimes less. It all depends on my mood. I try not to force it, because without inspiration, the **** usually comes out wack.

when people say they're making 4-6 beats a day, and people making stuff on youtube in 5 minutes...... those are actually just PATTERNS. 4-8 bars of the same. An actual beat, I make probably one complete every week or two. Patterns on the other hand, I can sketch up to 10-20 idea patterns per day on a busy day.

i never finished one beat. i usually start 3 sketches per day on average (sometimes 6, sometimes 1) then a play with the ones i still feel the next day (like maybe one or two of them). then when i'm finish brainstorming ideas on them i start to work on song structure. when i'm done with that i start mixing (this is usually where i sorta get lazy and leave it for "whenever i feel like working on it again. the whole brainstorming/structuring could take me a day or two but i'll be interupted plenty of times and also i sometimes start other patterns on the same day so i can't really tell how many hours it takes me on all that.

So true...I find myself having "beat block" when I try to force myself into making something hot. Usually something hot just comes out of nowhere when your not really trying your hardest, well, at least it's that way for me...

I make at least 2 - 3 beats a day. I used to make like 4 or 5 but now I try not to over do it. Alot of times them **** became redundant.

Now I chop up wo samples a day and make 1 original beat. Kinda balance myself out sort of.

Its good to make like a grip of template beats. then just rotate them around and tweak and eq them. I hear the same beat for to long i get tunnel vision of the ear. Ill just listen to 1 i did and tweak it here and there and move onto the next. The beat is done before i even realize it. ADD beat makin .

Man, I got me some beat block right now. I laid drums last night...honest to God....just drums and I was disgusted with myself. Like, this shyt is WACK. I know it's natural. I've gone like 4 to 6 weeks without making one beat. Usually at that point I'm pouring my creativity into something else (writing or mixing or drawing or whatever). But then something will happen...like I hear a dope beat or something that I wanna sample and boom, I'll do 4 in a day...end up with 8 to 10 in a week. I mean, I gotta 9 to 5 with an hour commute each way so that gives me limited time during the week. Plus, if I hit up happy hour or go out to dinner...forget about it. The WORST thing ever is when I get inspired at like 11:30 at night. Sometimes I can't control myself and stay up until 2 or somin. God, I can't wait until I don't have to work a 9 to 5 anymore.

haha i feel i do the same **** were i ****in got all into making beats at night what the **** .. its like i get all this energy at night .. then the next day i totally regret (kinda) but i usually punch out 2 to 3 beats i think every other day .... matters if i go to the record store .. right now i been on the grind status cuz i just got all these records .... this dude just gave me all his old records he didn't want ... so i got mad material to listen to ... but any who this post has encouraged me to make 10 beats a day haha peace

depends on the samples I'm hearing, how creative I'm feeling, i I ain't got nothing else to do with my life, etc.. back when i wasn't working it was 3 beats a day at least (sometimes up to 7), now it's crazy if I make 3 beats in a week. I haven't been home for a whole weekend in like two months...

I have a 9-5 and have to spend time with the girl so that takes up a lot of time. BUT, I have so many projects I force myself to pump out at least 2 or 3 a night.. usually they're "done" then before I work on more the next day I'll go back and listen to them and adjust whats needed. Sometimes you hear something different or feel a certain way as days go by.

So I might have been in a certain mood for that particular beat than a different for the next. But it can get tough. Especially when I'm working on 2 full albums, 1 with the Infamous Mobb so I try to make everything as perfect as can be. When it was just a "hobby" I'd take my time but now I feel pressured with all this work. But, better to have too much work than no work at all. Best of luck to everyone though!

2-3 per day average. Sometimes 5-6 per session. other days 1 or just tweek a previous beat. To me it makes no sense to just make beats to say "I make 3-4 beats a day" then when you hear the tracks they sound alike or they sound like there was no creativity in it. simple beat P Diddy style sampling (no chops just take the whole damn loop as is)

Depends, most of the time it's one or two because I got Dr. Dre syndrome. I get lazy or I get obsessed with ONE sound and tweak and tweak away. I'm trying my best to break that habit though.
