Lemme know how it goes and if it's worthwhile. I'm off to school but when I get back I'm signing up for MMA classes (Muay Thai, BJJ, and Wrestling classes basically) at a gym near me.

Wing chuns attacks are based on speed. I know people with increidable hand speed because of it. and as many know that was Bruce Lee style orginally. That **** would be nice to learn. Maybe after I finish up what I am doing now.
MMA classes...... Mixed Martial Art it to much of a formula now to be considered Mixed Martial Arts compettions.

its grreat i did it for 2 years but had to take a break because of my work schedule but if u put effort into it u can do damage because the art was created by a female and doesnt rely on brute strength.
my sifu teaches it with kali to compliment it so i guess i can call that mixed martial arts

That's exactly what they told us. They were saying that since women are naturally smaller than men, they created the style to focus on simplicity and aggression.
When I say simplicity, I mean that if someone were to grab you, you're not concerned with getting out of the hold. Your first instinct is to just hit them back. None of that fancy grappling stuff, just straight punching. Then once that first punch lands, you just keep hitting and hitting and don't give them an opening to counterattack.
The main stance they taught us was to keep our knees close to each other to mimic how Chinese women would stand in their skirts.

There is a Wing Chun master, forget his name but he runs the Wing Chun Musuem, who says that the Yim Wing Chun legend is not true. That Wing Chun was not a person but a society and that the legend was allegorical.
I've never taken it formally but I've learned a little bit from people who have. I think it's definitely top 5 Chinese Martial Arts.
Yip Man, Bruce Lee's Wing Chun Master, is suppossed to have said that if any of his students who had learned all three forms ever lost a fight he would jump off the tallest building in Hong Kong. He died of throat cancer, nuff said.

So how was it?
Well, I went again yesterday and didn't get nearly as tired as I did last week, partially because I knew what to expect. Yesterday we learned how to attack when you've been forced to the ground. The prior week we learned that you want to keep your weight on your back foot so that if someone tries to go at your front leg, you can move it easily and counterattack.
A lot of basic stuff so far ...
