Should crunches be treated like any other exercise targeting a muscle group...

ie. taking breaks?

for example, when lifting weights, usually u do it 3-4-5 days a week with breaks thrown in there

but i do crunches on a daily basis, hundreds, throughout the day

should i be giving myself breaks in between days or is everyday cool?

I used to do this, I decided to just increase resistance instead and did less and now my abs are "bigger"..

Anything you can do a hundred of, every day, must be far too easy..

LOL @ your name

Hundreds of crunches a day???? You would do yourself better by taking that time and doing cardio. I do situps with resistance and my abs are turning into arranged ravioli  But you will never get the nice abs without good diet and lots of cardio. If you have those two you won't even need to do crunches really.

i do cardio 30 min a day, 5 days a week, have a relatively decent diet, and lift weights 4-5 times a week

i just do crunches to pass time, a lil extra compliment to my routine if u will

i do 800 a day spread throughout the day

4 sessions of 200

one in the morning, two during my workout, one before bed

I do weighted sit ups everyday. I try to monitor pains and pulls to avoid overtraing. I increase the weight 5lbs every week or so.

I do: 30lbs. declined. 3 x 10

I'm not a pro, but this has been gettin results.
