View Full Version : I'm going to give you guys my secret to losing fat and getting ripped
Let me give you a background of myself. I've always be a regular to the gym and ate pretty healthy overall. But I was never one of those lucky few blessed with fast metabolism or a naturally ripped body. So no matter how much I lifted or ate good, I had that little unneeded fat in trouble areas for guys. But then I made one change in my gym workout and it's been night and day.
So the secret is this if you aren't already doing it. Workout your legs! Work them out as hard as you can. Go heavy on the weights. A lot of us guys don't workout our legs but it is the biggest muscles in our body and when you work them out it does many things for the rest of your body. With bigger legs you increase your metabolism, better your cardio and for me add strength to other parts of my body. And no homo but pants fit a lot better when you got some solid glutes. So hit the squats hard and it will pay off. My legs used to be weak as fukk and now I'm squatting like 4 plates and loving it. I've never come close to having a 6 pack and I'm starting to see signs of one.

i don't do legs and i can bench 270 lbs. and i only lift for like 3 weeks straight then i take a week off
plus, i can squat 385 lbs. once and i dont even do it but 4 times a year
running > lifting with your legs
True......I always neglected my legs in the past and that got me the "prison" build......I see the best results from a full body workout with moderate cardio.
Build up every musle group and your sheit will come together.
I go hard on the compounds every Friday.
5'9 220lbs and benching 305 as my max. Damn it feels good:king:

I just started doing legs and ramping up protein intake... seems to be working. Squats are no joke.

This isn't a big secret. It's common knowledge that squats get the GH pumping better then any other workout. SMH @ the moron who says Legs don't do ****.

na. its been proven deadlifts release more GH...squats come in second doe.
but ima chill on the squats now.. my legs have been getting soo much bigger, and i tried on my rock and republics today, **** look like some stretch hiphuggers now:thumbsdow
i couldnt even button it up at the waist.. and a few months ago i buttoned it up easily sagging it:thumbsdow
gotta lose some size on my legs

thats a lie.. aint no way yo deadlift 355 without putting on heavy work at the gym.
and no way yo squats 385 without puttin in work on the squats.
cadio does not help your muscular strength, only your endurance.. stop lyin
it can prolly help u a lil, but not 385lbs worth.
and deadlifts arent just your legs.. its mainly a back exercise.. so how can cardio help u with deads :huh:?

It's mostly on my legs and the shoulders genetics blessed me with.

actually, working your mid section is the key to getting ripped anywhere else in your body. For any type of list you do, it all starts in the middle of your body. So getting that right is the key to getting other parts of your body tight.

That's obvious. But strengthening your middle gives strength to other poarts of your body since the energy you exert when lifting or running all starts there.

It's mostly on my legs and the shoulders genetics blessed me with.
i'm 6'1 and weigh 205 lbs. with 11% body fat

it goes against the laws of physics and science. its humanly impossible to be squatting that much w/o putting in work on strengthening your legs.
and u DEFINITELY aint deadlifting that much w/o working on your deadlifts.
first off deads are a mainly back (specifically lower back) exercise. so aint no way no damn cardio built u to a 385 deadlift.. fukk u think u foolin?:thumbsdow

How many sets of squats should u be doing per work out?
i work out my legs twice a week...tues n thurs
i do 8-10 sets on tues, and 10-12 sets on thurs (legs total)
of those...only 3 sets are squats, the rest are calves and other thigh sets
is 3 squat sets per workout, twice a week enough squats? (keep in mind im doin other leg exercises)
also, keep in mind im 6"6 with a knees and back thats not in the greatest shape naturally

when I squat I go heavy as fukk so I only do about 6-7 sets. then I do calves and that's it for that day for legs
on the other leg day of the week I'll do like 5 sets of leg extensions and 5 sets of hamstring curls.
