There's some truth in the first statement. Whenever I go to a rap show, I see mostly White folks there and very little minorities present.
You remember when Little Brother performed to mostly Black audience and how uninterested the audience was until it was time for whichever mainstream club-friendly rapper to perform?

I'm Black myself, and I'm always surprised when I see brothaz who eschew something like Black Star in favor of something far less substantial. You're right: White kids like 'real' hip-hop more than Blacks, and I know that from conversations and hearing idiot statements.

And im a REAL HIPHOP HEAD...dont be fooled....last time i saw someone perform live, it was Krs-1 at club 112 in downtown ATL...all black crowd, with DJ red Alert in the booth on the 1's and 2's....he ripped it front back and side to side....i was more surprised at the amout of females there....
And plz, i've seen a crowd of white folks going crazy for Public Enemy while chuck D dissed the shyt out of them:laugh:....most of them dont even understand the science....

Yeah, the word's "Rakim Lost" should never be in the vocabulary of anyone who truly loves Hip Hop. One, Rakim has never and I do mean never had a show but he still moves the crowd regardless. People act like you can't have an off night or two. Name any entertainer and I bet you there is somebody who has been to a show or two of that entertainer, no matter how great they are, and they have had an off night. Man I seen footage of Richard Pryor damn near bombing.

this is why ppl are saying what they say about rap/hip-hop these days. the ppl of today don't show respect to the ones who paved the way plain and simple. the 1st gen rappers have never gotten the proper respect at no time really. when they were hot they were considered a passing fad now they are considered old and played out. I think for one, the rappers of the mid-late 1990s didn't do a good job of teaching and passing on the legacy, they just took it and got paid. while that's good and all they did not realize they were screwing the game for many years to come.:yes:
