DISCLAIMER: No, this isn't a Jay versus Nas thread in disguise

Let's logically break down how Nas can't possibly be the GOAT.

Lyrics: Oh, he's the GOAT because he's the best lyricist in the game. The best there ever was, the best there ever has been. Well, I think Rakim has him beat there easily, no contest. Lyrically and conceptually in fact.

Catologue: Okay, so he's the GOAT because he has the best catologue of music? Nope, sorry because Jay Z and Common have him beat here. If you look at the good shyt to bullshyt ratio, I think you would agree too. Nas has put out far more bullshyt and meaningless versus than Jay. And if not Jay, then Common.

Flow/wordplay: Ohh I see now. He's the GOAT because of his impeccable flooow. Jay and Biggie's flow is far, far superior. In terms of pure flow and wordplay, Jay or Biggie dismantles Nas's entire character. Not to mention Nas looked up to Big when he was alive. Big is also a better storyteller than him.

Sales: What's left? Record sales? Again, Jay, Tupac and Eminem destroy him in this category.

Credibility: All the tales Nas made up under his 'Escobar' moniker - ALL FAKE. Jay Z said it best: "..witnessin from your folks pad, scribblin in ya notepad".

What I'm trying to say is there is nothing Nas does that another MC doesn't do better. You can actually make cogent arguments as to why the aforementioned MC's can be considered the GOAT, but Nas? Give me a fukkin break. How can anyone respect a rapper that is just as bad as any SoHH poster in using shock album titles to stir up buzz - and then failing MISERABLEY at it. How long are YOU going to let Nas live off of Illmatic?
