What are the basic rules to this comp? Nothing but the sample or can you add the odd 808 boom and layered snare? It's hard to get the subsonic moogularities rockin' without a bit of layering.

I'm pretty sure you can do whatever you want with the beat as long as you sample the song somewhere in there.

thx..i dont like the hiss sound in my sampled beats so i had to eq the highs and clean it..then chop it up so i could work the melody my way instead of looping..took about 20 mins to make the whole beat. i still think its wack though. :mad:

I like how your beat broke down in different parts. Very nice. It makes me feel like I could have done more with mine, but I purposely tried to stay away from the parts that were sampled on B.I.B.L.E...so that was kinda hard to come up with something new with my beat.

thanks for the listen homie. I wanted to try to avoid that part of the sample too but then i started playin with it and figured i can make it sound live. The original sounds sad and moody so i tried to put some red bull in it. Your's is hella smooth though. tight

I did it WIT CHEAP COMPUTER SPEAKERS in the living room computer, wit my brother having the tv wit the volume high as hell. and me putting my ear to the speaker jus to try to hear.

It was hard cus since i dont got my laptop anymore and i got to use the living room slowass computer.

haha. Man it sucks. i use to have a laptop in my room wit sum good speakers that had a subwoofer and i had one of those midi keyboards and it was sick.

now i got to use the computer keyboard and have the volume low as hell!
But i still can come up wit sum dope stuff on this computer.

BUT one thing i just cant do wit this computer is make basslines. cus u cant hear the bass. If i hear a loud rumbling in the song im guessing thats the bassline.
