In Jay's defense all of these dudes played themselves. Why is it that Bleek managed to stick around all this time? Cause' Bleek knows how to play his part. Jaz probably deserved a bigger deal than he got, but ask yourself would you sign a guy to a million dollar deal if he had NO buzz whatsoever. Jaz should have signed that deal because it was better than anything else he had coming. Nobody else was offering him a deal, so why would Jay as a business man come out of his pocket and give him this huge deal. Both Dame and Jay played themselves, they both owed each other more. You can say that Jay would have never been on if it wasn't for Dame but you can also say the opposite. As far as Klein, he needs to make up his mind about what Jay was. Was he was really not in the streets, or not? It doesn't make a difference to fans at this point anyway. Dipset and Wayne show that as long as the people like your music they really don't care about your outside life.

You don't see Large Professor on every interview cryin' cause Nas moved on and started workin' with the Trackmasters, do you? You don't see him all over DVDs and magazines every chance he gets sayin' "I produced his demo, I did this, I did that..." He takes credit for his work, but you don't see him talkin' like he created Nas' entire state of being in the rap game. I don't recall him ever havin' a bad word to say about him, even tho' Nas kinda rolled out on him. Jaz is the only nicca in his mid-40s still bringin' up stuff he did for Jay back in the '80s.
