Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Miles davis, Ella Fitsgerald type sh1t...

Is there anything dope before that era?? 1940s,30s? etc...

It seems like everything before 1950s must have been wack because nobody ever talks about it....

Robert Johnson - The Complete Recordings (Delta blues from the 30s)
Charlie Parker - Yardbird Suite (bebop from the 40s and 50s)

Both are two-disc compilations, and both rock hard in their own way.... Not to mention the fact that both contain recordings that exerted an incalculable influence on modern music. No modern jazz w/o Parker and no modern blues or rock w/o Johnson.

I got a Skip James album from the 20s or 30s. It some real early acoustic blues. Its cool...I really just got it for that one song "Devil Got My Woman". That would make a cool sample.

Duke Ellington - He was popular for this song... "It Don't Mean A Thing" (If You Ain't Got That Swing)
Benny Goodman
George and Ira Gershwin
I only know of them. Any others?

That's a really great song. Where did you find the record? I tried looking for it.

Gene Autry
Artie Shaw
Cab Calloway
Bing Crosby
Those are some 40's musicians, I really don't know too much about the 30's/40's.
