If 50 need thin rappers with shiny smiles to sell records, well, thats his problem.Loud didn't have a problem with getting them a hit and almost going gold. G-Unit isn't able to release records, thats 50's fault.

:thumbsdow at the dumb asses in this thread.

First off, 50 never dissed them. He called them a "3 legged horse" because they are at a disadvantage when it comes to making music in 2007....MOP doesn't make hits. They make hard core rap, that sh*t is not in style or popular in 2007. So, 50 just said "I like their music, but they can't compete in today's market, so we can't release what they have". How is that a diss? It's the truth....nobody wants to hear "Ante Up" in 2007, they want to hear "Wipe Me Down". I don't even like 50 but he didn't say anything remotely disrespectful about them.

Oh and on a side note 50 will NEVER diss Dre or Eminem. He damn near worships both of them and praises them in nearly every interview I read.

And whats funny is that people criticized Jay Z for realizing the samething 50 did. 50 shouldve known before signing MOP that they werent going to sell. Once again Jay proves his "hustler" know how is still strong. Also, I do think 50 will diss Dre cause Dre kept quiet on the whole 50/Game situation. Smart move by Dre. Let them idiots fight while he collects checks.

so 50 is signing a hardcore rapgroup and refusing to put out their music if they dont water their **** down just to sell more albums.

is'nt that the same thing as selling out? I could never see mop making a candy shop-type of song..

Why the hell would 50 sign them in the first place? But on the real its this way of thinking thats leading Hip Hop into the position that it is now and why NY may continue to struggle. People and mainly these dumbass A&Rs need to realize that alot of the n!ggas that putting out garbage sh*t like Ah Bay Bay, Party Like a Rockstar, This is Why Im Hot and other garbage arent selling any records. A Hardcore M.O.P. record might be what not only Hip Hop needs but also what NY needs to bring some momentum in its way because right now its full of coon sh*t. N!ggas are constantly playing it safe and its showing in the numbers that people are tired of R&B(Rappin&Bullsh!t) Thats why Fabolous flopped.

this marks the first time ill get in on this south vs. NY nonsense, but this is a pretty good illustration of whats really good. artists in the south aren't conforming, they are making the music they want to make. they arent selling out. trust me, ive been listening to southern artists since before it took over (remember when it was all hip hop?) and thats their sound for the most part. i love the music. the only problem i have is everybody being so scared to make music on their own terms. that sh1t is annoying! new york should not have to make music on mississippi's terms, because of "today's market"

you can look at kanye, black eyed peas (yea i said it), or anybody else really doing their own thing and clearly see that "today's market" is not an excuse...espescially for a huge machine like interscope. why even start a label if you dont want to blaze trails and stand out? people kill me...

Fat Joe's and Fabolous's album sales and fan responses are a perfect example to your claim. Fabolous said that he HAD to throw Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne on there because he wanted a Southern audience. It isnt because he was feeling Jeezy or Wayne. He tried to give the people what he thought they wanted and he failed misrably wheras a cat like T.I. came out with a creative marketing scheme with this T.I. Vs T.I.P concept along with a street banger to satisfy his core audience(Big thangs poppin) and ended up going gold in one week.

He didn't diss them why would he put them out when they are not ready. The same people that are saying that they are waiting for a M.O.P. album are the same ones that are going to help them flop by not buying the album and download it. IMO I don't think that he should've signed them. They won't sell.

50 himself said the music they got is good the only problem is he cant market them in todays market.Meaning to market east coast hardcore rappers that dont appeal to women is something he refuses to do.Maybe thats why every G-Unit album that drops has at least 2 singles that are geared toward women.

I cant believe you said it cuz that one example destroys your whole argument. This pop ass bullsh*t fluff black eyed peas puts out sounds NOTHING like the sh*t they were dropping 10 years ago. I used to listen to these dudes in high school, "Falling Up" was my sh*t. They were the main one screamin that "real hip hop, fukk sell-outs" sh*t (listen to the lyrics on that Primo cut "BEP Empire, that sh*t sounds like a backpackers ranting manifesto).

If people were free to make music they wanted to and make a living out of doing it, they wouldnt need record labels in the first place. Of course if you want success in the mainstream you have to cater to the masses. That's why they call it "MAINSTREAM".
