lol @ my life
I really don't understand anymore. I lift heavy weights, play basketball, do a lot of ab exercises etc etc. However, my belly won't go away. Wtf should i be doing? Is it just bad genetics? This sh!t is endless. I just want to look good no homo. I've been thinking about taking whey as a fat burner, good idea?
240 pounds down to 183 and i still have a gut. SMH.

its hard to lose that last bit of body fat. it can be stubborn to come off but i guarantee at 183 you look better than you did at 240.
all i can say is keep cutting and bulking with the clean bulks till you get where you wanna be. give it some more time and don't get discouraged you just keep working till get get where you want even if you never make it you don't quit or give up because as long as you work towards the goal you have the chance to achieve it.

first off, give yourself more credit for doing that much. for many its not easy to have much results. just keep at it and stay focused.
i toned up over the last year a good amount, and im still not satisfied. but i remember the couple times that i didnt see anything quick, and almost gave up, but kept at it. and im glad i did.
thats also a significant amount of weight, it may be loose skin. it will tighten after time, but in severe cases may not improve.
dont think of it as a negative. you dropped that much, probably look and feel much better, and im sure others have noticed. keep it up!

congrats on the weight loss alchemy :)
just be grateful and proud of yourself that you've gotten rid of some bad habits and decided to be a bit more healthy. that's a feat in itself!

if it don't tighten up you can add muscle to fill it.

i used to be 236 and went down to 176 and i've had the same problem, i'd suggest taking fat burner like hot rox and doing what Jahmal said to do

Try to change up your cardio routine a bit....
Think about taking a couple days out of the week to do some interval training. If you got a local high school nearby, go run sprints on the track and mix that in with stadiums. Working those fat twitch muscle fibers will help you burn fat for up to 24-hrs. And you already know to stay eatin clean...
I would also try switching up your lifting routine as well. Try some interval training in the gym. There's a great total body routine in one of the past Muscle and Fitness issues that has two seperate routines. One is strictly barbell and one is dumbell. Both are mad tough, you perform 10 exercises in a row, no rest, performing 20 repetitions. You run the cycle 3 times.....this routine cut me up after I did it for 4 weeks straight. Let me know if you want more info on it...
The interval cardio training is a great way to help burn off some more excess fat leftover. But still, props on the job you've done so far.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I really need to cut down on my sugar intake. It's not bad, but i just can't give up pop. I am doing alright thought, my body is drastically different than it was less then a year ago. I have a lot more muscle on me now than i ever did. It's just frustrating doing all this work and still having that one layer of fat left over. Oh well, just have to keep going.
I am 22 for the person who asked.

Alright guys, I don't have a link to the article itself since one of the trainers I know handed me a printed copy of the article. I'll post everything it has up:
BARBELL ROUTINE:
Exercises:
1.)Deadlift - 20 reps
2.)Bench Press - 20 reps
3.)Squat - 20 reps
4.)Bent-over row - 20 reps
5.)Overhead press - 20 reps
6.)Romanian Deadlift - 20 reps
7.)Upright Row - 20 reps
8.)Incline-Bench Press - 20 reps
9.)Lunge - 20 reps
10.)Bodyweight Dip - 20 reps
DUMBBELL ROUTINE:
Exercises:
1.)Deadlift - 20 reps
2.)Incline Dumbbell Press - 20 reps
3.)Step-Up - 20 reps
4.)One-Arm Dumbbell Row - 20 reps
5.)Dumbbell Lunge - 20 reps
6.)Romanian Deadlift - 20 reps
7.)Overhead Dumbbell Press - 20 reps
8.)Side Row - 20 reps
9.)Bench Dip - 20 reps
10.)Dumbbell Squat - 20 reps
Start off with a weight comfortable for 20 reps. Perform all 10 exercise in a row with little to no rest in-between exercises. All 10 exercises = 1 cycle. Run the cycle 3 times in a row. Rest periods in between cycles should be no longer than 5 minutes.
Perform this routine on average of 3 times a week, 4 weeks total(M&F recommended 6 weeks in a row, but trust me dog, it's a b!tch!). So for an example:
Week 1 - Monday = barbell routine, Wed. = dumbbell routine, Friday = barbell routine
Week 2 - Monday = Dumbbell routine, Wed. = barbell routine, Friday =dumbbell routine
Week 3 - same as 1
Week 4 - same as 2
On your off days like tues. + thurs., go do those stadiums and sprints or any other cardio you're comfortable with...Weekends I usually went in on sat. or sun. and focused on forearms as well.....and you're gonna need to have some diesel forearms for that dumbbell routine!
The other main important aspect of this routine is to increase your weights by 5% each week on every exercise you do. If you can increase by a higher percentage, more power to you...
The body parts this routine fails to directly target are abdominals and biceps. With most of the exercises though, you're working biceps indirectly. At the end of a cycle I rested up for a minute then threw in 20 bicep curls just to get that extra pump......your call here.
For abs, I would do all 3 cycles and then cool down with whatever ab routine you like. I know that's you're main concern right now but trust me dawg, this routine is gonna whip yo azz......don't even think about doing cardio before or after this routine on your lifting days, you'll def. get it throughout the cycle.
The routine usually takes around 50 minutes to complete depending on how crowded the gym is of course.
That's all I got right now, if I've missed anything I'll post it later. If you got any more questions, I'll holla--

Can't give up pop? That's problem #1, IMO. Not only is pop high in calories, but they are empty calories (provide no nutritional value). Also, it makes you constantly bloated. Even if your BF% is low, you will still have a gut if you are drinking pop.
I was the same way as you, a soda addict. The way I remedied this was to drink a sh!t ton of water throughout the day, whether I was thirsty or not. I piss all the time, but I pretty much never actually get "thirsty" which in turn makes my cravings for soda almost non existent. I still drink 1 or 2 cans a week just as a reward for myself, but throughout the rest of the week is is absolutely nothing but water and milk during breakfast. I don't even drink juice.
I suggest you go buy a large water bottle that holds at least 80 ounces, and fill it with ice and water before work. Drink it throughout the day. The entire 80 should be gone in your 8 hours of work. Your cravings will go down.
Now, I'm not saying you will lose the last of your gut if you give up pop, but it is definitely step 1. Step 2 is adding high intensity interval training to your regular workout.

No one ever said my article was the end all be all to excess weight loss.
It is however, a unique way to change up one's routine to "shock" your muscles, which is an ideal way to promote more lean muscle growth and fat loss.
Keeping the same routine is exactly what you should NOT do for an extended period of time. Your body adapts to the same routine and there is no more room for improvement.
I'm guessing that part slipped your mind...
More cardio.
If you're not on the brink of vomiting at the end of a cardio session then you're not trying hard enough and you're happy with that stomach of yours.
