I've often wondered
where you were,
what you doin,
how you looked,
could you ball,
could you sing,
could you cook,
I feel like I really don't know me
because I never knew you
I gotta learn everything on my own
even when I don't want to
I'm a father now
I don't wanna be like you
Ima make my wife and my momma proud
cause you showed me what not to do
it never had to be this way
why couldnt you just do right
would it really have been to much
to save a son from this plight
It was too much pressure on my mom
turning a boy into a man
but she did it
and I love her for it
when I should be lovin you
but it feels like you ignored it
But I won't
Ima take care of my seed
make sure she has everything she'll ever need
I don't have one
and I no longer feel sad
I find joy in knowing
my little angel has a dad

Very honest, and bold not every brother is willing to expose their vulnerabilty. This all in all is a good piece and many a brother can relate to the absent old man. Sounds like you're gonna turn out to be a good pops good luck!
