i think i'd have to go with rick rubin he's just been involved with too many classics. i like brendan o brian. i met steve albini a week ago (the guy who did the last nirvana album) and he had some real interesting shyt to say about the music industry, but he always has this muddy sound on his records that i dont like.
who's some of your favorite producers???

Lee Perry. (Check the avi.)
Such a distinctive subterranean sound.
It's not really something that I follow closely--but just thinking off the top I'd say: David Sitek and Guy Picciotto.

Good call. He put in solid work on Late Registration too.
You should hear Brion's soundtrack for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. One of Beck's best songs is on there.

haven't heard that yet, not really in the metal mood, but just thinking of the stuff he's done for the breeders, nirvana, pixies, pj harvey, and jesus lizard earns my vote.
