I'm trying to Diversify my musical taste...

Both me and my exgirlfriend are pretty open-minded when it comes to music, but she listens to country like hardcore. Now I can tolerate Dixie Chicks and some of the other female artists, but she's into everything from Garth Brooks to Keith Urban and a pretty much everyone in between. One day before we broke up we were having a convo about music and I don't really remember what I said, but I'm pretty sure I sh!tted on her taste in music... not on purpose though, I think. Then she turns to me and goes, " You know, Vic you're not ass open-minded as you may think " :ohmy: :ohmy: . And that sh!t ethered me. I've always prided myself on being open-minded and embracing different things and to hear someone who's opinion actually matters tell me otherwise had my soul burning slow. So now I'm trying to expand my musical interest past hip-hop/r&b and rock. I've been listening to bluegrass lately and I actually like it. If anyone can point in the direction of some music other than the aforementioned genres it would be greatly appreciated.

Tzadik Records - a label run by John Zorn (prominent jazz/acid funk/screamo musician) where he releases albums by composers and artists he likes. He's done a lot of incredible film scores for the label (check out Invitation to a Suicide) and one of the composers, Yuka Honda, is incredible. The album you need to check out is Naked City by John Zorn - it's a 1989 album that shifts from weird covers of film themes to death metal to jazz. Good sh!t
