Revolution 9 was just experimentation in sound collages. John, Ringo & George went through the tapes in Abbey Road Studios and pieced together the song. It's a bit like early sampling.

The whole "Paul is dead" thing was a rumour that the 'original' Macca died in 1966 and was replaced by a look-a-like. It apparentally got so big the Beatles took the piss out of the rumour in 1969 with the White Album. There's way too much sh!t about it, so just check this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_is_dead)
