I am always hearing this stupit idiotic argument about Nas. Name a rapper with the sucess that Nas has had thru out their career that has sucsessfully put their boys on. You can't . Jay-z(Memph Bleek ), No. I'm sure that the amount of records that memph bleek has sold isn't that much more than bravehearts/cormega. and I'm sorry the dudes that came up around Nas aren't on becasue they are ass. that's basically it.

Or it could be because they shot the video in the winter and shooting daytime exteriors in New York City in the winter is extremely hard because the grey skies make everything on camera look ugly and unflattering and the side of a giant brick project isn't exactly Central Park to begin with in terms of natural beauty. Not to mention, its extremely difficult to bring an entire crew of a high budget music video into the QB Projects because its still one of the rougher neighborhoods in New York and its a logistical nightmare what with parking permits, security, the winter conditions & extremely high insurance premiums for the equipment. They could just avoid this by shooting in a sound studio in Astoria for a hell of a lot cheaper and lot less hassle.
But you know you are right! Its more important that Nas not look like a chump to a couple of geeks on the internet by shooting in the middle of his old hood. Yep because being real is more important than making a quality product.

If you a grown a$$ man you shouldn't need to have someone put you on and support you. If your given an OPPURTUNITY by someone your supposed to take it and run with it and not have to RELY on your MAN's and THEM to RAISE YOU and NURTURE you. Nas gave them opportunities that they prolly wouldn't of gotten on their own. his CREW are GROWN men that need to make a living on their own.

I can guarantee thats what happened on that video. Besides, it actually made sense to shoot in front of green screen for the Can't Forget About You video anyway since the song and video's theme was nostalgia for the past and the way they photographed that particular scene, the background was digitally made to look like an old photograph. You can't achieve that effect if you actually shoot on location.

All D12 members were well known in the underground circuit before Em blew up. Jungle & wiz, on the other hand, would've never ever got a deal if they weren't Nas's fam.
Every Nas album has a debut verse from some rapper:
Illmatic - Az
It was written - Cormega
I am- Nature & bravehearts
Nastradamus - Nashawn
QB finest- so many
Stillmatic - Blitz
God's son- Lake
Street Disciple- Quan
Hiphop is dead- Chrisette Michele & Tre Williams (not rappers though)
Not to mention the producers that Nas has put on throughout his career like LES, Salaam Remi.
Beside, maknig rap records is not the only way you can help your crew with. Not everyone of your boys is talented enough to be a rapper. In fact, thats one of the things that fukked the game up. You got some wack motherfukkas who are simply in the game because they know someone.

Yo half these ma fukkas aint even from queensbridge, if you want to count how many people are put on period then Nas still comes in last. The rest did more than put them on a few songs, and Jay put on twice as many producers (just blaze, kanye, 9th wonder, Chad west, Bink, etc)
I know rap isn't the only way to put your people on, thats why everyone else i mentioned had business ventures that nas doesn't have to put his people on.. Just stop arguing, Nas is a great rapper and all but he has no respect for his squad..

I'm sorry did I not specifically mention that daytime exteriors in New York look like crap? Because I thought I did. Daytime exteriors. All of those videos are shot at night except Nas is Like. You can shoot at night and make anything look good, its called lighting. Its what you pay your crew to do. Its a lot harder to shoot daytime scenes and make them look good because you can't control the sun and weathers. Second of all, those videos are each almost ten years old and don't exactly have the prettiest cinematography to begin with but thats part of their aesthetic. It works for those videos but I don't think a grimy ass hood video would work for a song like Can't Forget About You. Call me crazy but Nat King Cole isn't exactly Kool G Rap. Nobody ever critically thinks on this site. Its sad. But I guess if you consider a paragraph to be an essay than you really can't count on solid reading comprehension and attention span.

It's from Beanie Sigel's album "The Truth" and it was a bonus track on the cd, kinda like how Jay did "Dear Summer" on "534". Only difference was, he did a video for this one.

Well, is it any more of a theory than the myth that Nas can't go back to his hood so he had to shoot in a studio. Thats not an established fact thats speculation by a bunch of nerds who hate Nas' immaterial essence to begin with. I work as a camera operator in the NY film industry so I know that there are a lot of things that go into choosing a particular location. Everything from parking availability for production vehicles to permits to insurance money for renting out a location. I'm guessing the choice was aesthetic more than anything and was a conscious choice by the director and the artist. I just know that shooting outdoors in the winter in New York is really, really, really rough. Its not a fun experience.
