This is a 5 track sampler of Curtis
Peep Show ft/ Eminem
I Still Kill ft/ Akon
All of Me ft/ MJB
Ayo ft/ Timberlake
Follow My Lead ft/ Robin Thicke
These are only a few seconds, but my God they are horrible. There is nothing inspiring or reassuring about these tracks (one of the worst Akon choruses I've heard, and the rest are songs for the ladies) Isn't this album supposed to be that grimey pre-fame mixtape **** 50 was on? Including Amusement Park, this is FIVE tracks for the *****es, I don't know the length of the album, but five is a good portion of any CD.
FYI Eminem... you doing songs for *****es ain't your M.O.... and it doesn't sound good... just stop it

I am just disappointed in the direction this album seems to be taking. First you have Straight to the Bank... a track 50 promised would be the only one boasting how successful he is and the rest of the album would be pre-Shady/Aftermath lyrics.
Then you have Amusement Park, obviously to catch the female demographic which is fine... music is a business. The Robin Thicke joint is fine also, a slower song to catch some the females but also incorporate the males I guess.
But the Eminem song sounds horrible. Just another song about ****in and having girls strip for you, especially with Eminem who cant keep his d!ck and love out of his hoe ass ex-wife (or wife now who the hell knows).
Then you got the song with JT, another song about ****in girls with dildos and **** (the technology reference). And the MJB song with more save your love for me and all that bull****.
I thought the Akon joint would be jumping off, but from what the sampler has, I don't think the chorus has enough power to capture the status of a "good song."
Granted, these songs are only a few seconds, but I was just expecting a majority of raw lyrics and hard beats when it seems to be boiling down to getting dumbass white girls to buy this CD just so 50 can say "I didnt flop".

Damn that Akon joint sounds like FIRE. Thas about the only one that stood out to me though, the rest were iight.

isn't this the reason people started hating on Ja Rule...because he made both songs for the streets and the mainstream???

I'm not sayin hes dumb (see my above post^^^) but I felt like he has been marketing the album has more of a street CD.
He said this album would be over and beyond The Massacre (I hated this by the way) but it doesnt seem to be shaping up like that (aka you got your joint pushed back).
I think I remember him saying the album would only be 12 - 15 songs??? 5 tracks is a good portion marketing to the ladies, when I recall this CD being promoted as raw gorrilla 50.
Am I wrong here?

50 is a big artist but in the music bizz now ppl have 2 do things 2gether to make a big impact... its only once in a while when u can be by yourself and get record sales like 50.... 50 cant keep coming out with jut a lil bit and candy shop by his self... its easier when u have guys like akon and robin thicke helping u out... cuz mainstream america excepts them more and digs there music... im just saying facts here.

I'm even doubting he'll recoup. He said he'll have a bigger marketing budget than Jay. And now he pushed back the album that's extra marketing dollars.
Those tracks don't sound too promising.

I have heard this sh!t before.
Hating were hating when the snippets for massacre dropped!
everyone said it sucked. But we all know that sold over 5 million.
haters kget on your job!

^It sold 5 million and it had 5 good songs on it. I'm not gonna lie, I think "Ski Mask Way" is a classic.
But this aint 2005 no more. All these new songs are disasters. This whole project is a disaster. 50's talent done DRIED UP. He calls up Jimmy Iovine like "So what do you think about me getting $100 million for my next deal?" then has to wait a full minute for Jimmy to stop laughing.
Oh well, he owns 0.0000000001% of Vitamin Water. And I should care because...?

I was on Sohh when just a lil bit dropped and everyone said it will get anywhere. they were wrong then.
They will be wrong again!

People always hate on samplers.
The JT joint sounds hot, the Robin Thicke one too, Em's sounds sh1tty.
Ah, it sucks that it got pushed back like 3 months...50 must be scared

Some of you are missing my point entirely. I'm not hating on whether or not 50 is a big name or whether these songs will sell him records.
I am hating on the fact 50 came out of his mouth marketing this CD as the pre-GRODT days (an album that the fans that MADE him famous would appreciate)
This **** sounds far from what 50 was selling in the beginning.
I think 50 realized he's not the boss he wants people to believe and can't put out anything and sell. He has to revert back to the sing-song flow that his initial fans resent to capture that mainstream prepubescent suburb girls.
I'm just calling a spade a spade, if 50 told us "expect rnb rap duets" I wouldn't be mad, but he said "expect hardcore 50".
P.S.
Rappers looking for a classic album... as I look back, I can only account for 10% of so called classic albums having material dedicated to the ladies. this constant stream of strip-club ***** eating music may sell records, but it doesn't earn you respect.

Man, I don't get you. 50 hypes every got damn thing he puts out. Remember when he dropped the Massacre and said it was better then GRODT? Or how about when the Mobb Deep album was about to drop and he said it was on the same level as GRODT? And let's not talk about all the other **** he was hyping up as if it was the best thing since sliced bread. Dude hype things up to his own benefit. This isn't anything new.
still will kill- track sound kinda weak from what i can hear, well atleast what akon was screaming is weak, 50 betta come hard on dem bars or its gonna be another wack track.
peepshow- 50 been using show, dough, and flow too much lately, it doesnt have the fresh effect that it should have, sound like another weak track.
all of me - hmm, its not heartfelt like it should be, sound like another weak chorus...
follow ma lead - sound like another weak track... iono mayne, sh1t aint lookin too good for fif... dude need to holla at me for dem hits..

I understand hyping up an album, but he's done a complete 180 from what he has said. These are weak, empty tracks - bottomline, and Interscope obviously knows it.
I just wanted to see 50 say "**** it, I've made my money, I want to put something out for the people who arent a stones throw away from the line to cop T-Pain." I listen to mixtape 50, and see a shell of a good rapper greased down singing.

Remember this album was recorded in like 2 months. He put his "real" album on the shelf during that beef with Cam and came up with this.
damn based on the snippets the songs are way too sing-songy

He's in a tough place. His ONLY agenda is to sell, but he knows that without being that hot edgy artist he won't be able to keep the momentum going to stay hot. All that bragging caught up with him.

So that makes it a good album?
POTD wouldn't have gone plat. Does that make it a worse album?
50 will not sell if he panders to the fickle demographic he won over. He's already rich... he should be making albums because he wants to, not because he has to sell. I don't see this ending well.

because it's like I said before....the tables have turned once again in music
the rap cats are using the RnB/Pop artists to help them sell....
Fabolous has done the same thing on his forthcoming CD From Nothin to Somethin.........in stores June 12th
because RnB is THE music again....at one time it was the rap artists who had to get on a RnB track to get noticed
King Solomon said "there is nothing new under the sun".....so everything has a way of coming back around.

Fantastic point!
Personally I never had a problem with Ja Rule's music and I still like him to this day. I loved the 'Clapback' & 'New York' joints....so gutta & street
the beef situation was entertaining, but some people actually started to hate on Ja Rule because of what 50 said.....and then 50 turned around and did the same thing himself lol
When these emcees beef I take it with a grain of salt....I don't change my opinion of one rapper because of what another one said, unlike some people who did at the time

You and 50 must understand that what goes around comes around
50 will learn that lesson soon enough...........
Let me say right here.....that I didn't appreciate him saying that he could push back projects on Koch just because he had the power or influence to do so......he's showing no humility, only pompousity and pride.....and u know what they say about pride, don't u?

Lol.....neither do I, but still we'll wait and see when the album drops in September
Personally I think 50 didn't want to drop his album in the same month as Fab & some other artists that will be dropping in the coming summer months.
