View Full Version : How are your eating habits?
Do you count calories? Do you watch what you eat? Do you try to eat healthy and control portions? Do you eat fast food?
I’ve just started paying closer attention to what I eat and I find that I save money by eating better. I probably go to the grocery store and spend $50 a week on food or less if I got some left over and I pretty much gave up fast food altogether. I’m just banking the money I save.
I used to just eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted, now I only snack on fruits and eat about 4 separate 500 calorie meals and allow 1 400 calorie combo of desert for the day.
How he do that?

I'm inconsistent w/monitoring what I eat, I was using sparkpeople.com to help count calories, but I found it tiring after a while.
I stick to an okay diet tho, I think. Mostly vegetarian; not really into fast/processed foods or if I get pre-made meals, I try to get organic-type foods (Amy's, Gardenburger etc); too much alcohol is probably my main dietary vice

I just control my portions. I don't count calories and I don't put too many restrictions on what I eat.
I eat whatever I want and have never had to worry about my weight or anything like that. I don't usually eat a huge amount though and I never stuff myself.
That said, I often skip meals due to being busy (I never eat breakfast; if I'm up early it's just in time for work, otherwise I sleep in).
i don't totally count calories, i just keep a rough idea in my head. i always have a good idea of what amount of calories most of the foods i eat contain.

I don't put much thought into it. I just have lean protein, a complex carb, and a green vegetable. I make sure I go back for seconds on the protein tip and that's about it. On the weekend (usually saturday) I go on an all out binge for one meal.

Hi,
I count calories.I won't eat fast food. But I like to fruit juices.I drink juices in unlimited way.
And I use to do exercises hardly especially in the morning.I think morning exercise will make the body healthier too.......

juice is pointless, if you eat the fruit you get the fiber and less calories. for all those calories you get from juice you should have just ate something instead.

I'd go to the grocery store and eat better if i didnt live with roommates who would devour my food with a quickness.
I eat as sensible as I can. I stopped doing cutting and bulking phases a while ago so I'm just maintainin now I guess. I don't count calories because at this point I pretty much know how much I need to maintain my weight (230's). I still eat 6-7 times a day though; the effects of eating like this are still great. I have more energy, don't feel bogged down by food, and I still have energy for lifting. I still eat smaller portions of food and snacks here and there. Still taking the needed protein shake following workouts and sh*t.
I still stay away from processed foods, sugar, soda, fried food, and sweets though. I might thrown in a big cheat fest here and there but nothing more. Water is still my number 1 source of hydration.
I just feel good where I'm at; the real test is keeping it up as I get older. Those days of serious cutting and monster bulks are pretty much gone for me. I know I won't be able to sustain that lifestyle once I graduate and start doing what I plan to do, but my clean eating habits and workouts will always be there.

I workout a ton, but that translates to me always being hungry because my metabolism is ferociously begging me to ingest more yummy stuff.
I'm a pretty hefty guy, so there's a certain caloric intake i have to keep up with to maintain my physique (not that it's much at all, just saying). But if there was a way where i could not "OVER EAT", that would be nice. The vast availability of cheap snacks and fast-food make it all too tempting for this broke college student to indulge in. And i'm also too lazy to prepare meals for myself (which is why i want a girlfriend who can cook healthy meals that are fulfilling and taste great!).
I need to acquire the skill of hearty/healthy cooking so i can stave off this craving for fatty/hi-calorie/heart-ailing foods.
Chicken and beer, cheese burgers, pancakes and grits, take-out chinese, pizza, Ritz (and other boxed crackers), strawberry-kiwi juice, sugary cereal, corn dogs, mayonaise with everything i eat... boy; i'm not going to dip under 220 anytime soon. LOL!!!
I'm so chunky... chunky monkey ice cream good, too!!!
Ummm...

My diet is pretty much a vegan one. I occassionally have a salmon steak or shrimp; pizza w/ cheese on it.
I buy lots of canned organic beans, tofu, brown rice, frozen veggies, avocados, granola, and fruits. My favorite cereal is Nature's Path Pumpkin Flax Granola; I go through 3 boxes of it per week, and I have it with rice milk. It's very delicious and I think you should try it. :)
There's not much variation in my diet though; I eat the same 2-3 meals all week, but I enjoy them and feel good knowing the ingredients are as natural as possible. I eat out twice a week apprx, usually ethiopian, indian, asian, or lebanese, as these have vegan options.
The only beverage I drink is water, and I don't eat any sweets.
