I agree but as a music fan there is a few artists who are in hip hop who are worthy of listening too; Kos, Canibus, some Jay z, some nas, The roots.

Hip hop is juvenile; i loved only rap when i was 14-17 now i own hundreds of cds by many different artists and listen to rap very infrequently.

Beatles are overrated. Many great songs but no virtuoso. Highly influencial however.

Jimi was a great musician and artist BUT he was a women beating skumbag and that polite act in front of interviewers etc wasn't the real Hendrix.

I've got just as much Jazz, Blues and early R&B on my Ipod as Hip Hop. It's all the same music, Hip Hop is just the latest form. There is a style of Jazz singing called "vocalese" where the vocalist takes an existing instrumental song and sings the lyrics exactly the way the solo is played not for note. The **** is incrdible. Emceeing , when it's done right, is an extension of that. The way Nas & AZ flow to the beat on "Life's A *****" or "Serious" is just like Sarah Vaughan flowing on "Cherokee", it's all the same.
