this is one myth i'm glad to put behind me. it doesn't matter when you eat all that matters is the number of calories.

if you eat 1,000 calories right before you go to sleep, you won't burn any of that **** hardly and the rest will turn into fat cells
while if you eat 1,000 calories for dinner
and you go out and ****, you'll most likely burn those calories

it doesn't matter whan you take in calories. as you sleep your body is still at work and still using energy. if you eat 1000 calories through out the day then eat 1000 right before bed you still ate 2000 calories through the day.
only a fool would starve them selves to the point where they have 1000 calories left really late in the day. i keep my meals at about half that amount.

it has still been proven that it doesn't matter, all that matters is that you take in less or an equal amount of calories in relation to what you burn in a day. the body doesn't discriminate about what time you take them in.
the body doesn't say ok its night and i'm getting calories so i'll store these as fat it says ok i burn x amount of calories and i'm getting y which is greater than x xo subtract y from x and i'll store those as fat.

never believed in it either...i eat RIGHT before sleep...i lift a lot...im quite yoked (not to too my own horn)
...and i wake up in the morning about 2-3 pounds less than what i was the night b4...hmm
While I wouldn't personally eat right before bed because of sleeping issues, its not bad to have a snack before bed. Eating right before bed can interrupt sleep and have you feeling like sh*t the next morning, a light snack won't do that much damage though.
Anyone doing maintenance or bulking definitely should be eating something prior to sleep, but people on a diet DON'T need to. Eating 2-3 hours before you go to bed is feasible and good enough for most. If your diet is on point you won't need to consume extra calories at night just to meet your requirements.
Males won't have to worry too much about this issue, but females should be cautious about what and how much their planning on eating.

hm.. i sometimes do eat right before bed... not a lot but yeah... a lot of the time if i don't eat a snack before bed, i wake up in the morning or in the middle of the night starving

Its just a diet myth that makes you lose weight because you WILL forget to eat a meal before 5 on some of them days, and that drops your calorie intake.

i eat literraly right before sleep....good too...my body fat % is below 10 somewhere...yoked up...dont be believe it...it whenever u want just get those workouts in

I try to eat nothing but protein 12-14 hours after I wake up because after that your digestive system starts to take a backseat to your kidneys
For instance, I get up at 5:30 AM and past 8 PM its only protein shakes and egg whites for me. makes a big difference

So, you're saying, you can starve yourself for 30 days....then eat all the 90,000 calories i was supposed to eat on a single day, and you'll be fine?
When you eat, and what you eat has an impact, you'd be a fool to think other wise.
If you DON'T eat in the morning, your metabolism crashes, so you'll be very prone to storing fat. If you DO eat in the evening, since you'll be inactive then, you aren't burning many calories, so what would be considered a "light meal" early in the day, is heavy and dangerous.

I eat b4 bed but also like to do some push-ups and some sit-ups to get my metabolism going when i sleep. I like to have a bowl of cereal b4 bed, fills me up and the milk makes u sleep better.

I am going to go ahead and say this is wrong based on my experience.
Our bodies constantly go through different phases (water retention, muscle pump etc) based on our workout and eating schedule and diet. However, my body almost ALWAYS feels slimmer, muscles tighter and overall look and feel better (particularly in the morning) when I haven't ate anything past 7:30 or 9pm the night before.
My theory is this. Your body burns calories while it sleeps, but at a much slower pace then when you're awake. Therefore, if you go to sleep on an empty stomach, the body has no other choose but to go into reserves (stored fat) for energy. In fact, your body may actually begin tapping reserves by the 3rd or 4th hour depending on diet, activity, metabolism etc.
In the contrast, if you eat shortly before going to bed, you body probably won't have that food digested before it goes into a slowed pace. It will recognize that it probably has an excess of food in it's system and store it.
Just a theory, but I know that I have had much better experience and seen better results when I stayed away from eating after 8pm.
i've lost over 30 pounds and i've been eating late. i allocate those calories and i eat my last mean at 9-10 pm.

to "Dress"...yea your gonna feel slimmer and muscles tighter..because u didnt eat anything the night before and probably didnt get enough in to help repair your muscles overnight...that's not exactly a good thing. The less "tight" you feel, the better and the faster u can get back into the gym and workout again.

eating something clean in the night isnt going to hurt anyone, but a #4 with a large coke that late will after a while, not to mention sometimes waking up feeling like crap

This makes no since. When I say "slimmer", I more so mean more defined, muscular, not necessarily smaller. Hence why I said muscles tighter. It actually feels like the opposite, that my muscles have fully recovered and been replenished.

well that makes no sense either...
i tell u what.....go to the gym after doing that..without eating breakfast
next time..try eating right before bed...then going to the gym in the morning without eating breakfast...
tell me how sore and weak you feel compared to each time..i guarantee you will have more strength and will feel less sore goin in...
Its better to eat before bed so your body cant take advantage of the proteins goin into your body to finish up repairing your muscles while u sleep. You'll get more sleep on a full stomach as well...which also helps when u wake up int he morning ready to lift.
If its just a losing weight thing..i see no problem...but if you're a hardcore weight lifter that actually wants to get strong and put on more mass as well as cut up....i think the whole not eating after 6 is only hurting more than helping.
