Busta's "Touch It" was over Daft Punk's "Technologic".

Their first album is considered an "electronica" classic, and a few tracks off their second one were really good too. Don't know much about them since 2001.

my friend used to do some of their engineering. alot of their **** sample based. not saying its bad, but its a diff approach to producing than most electronic music producers. they got some dope ass grooves.

I have their first album. I listened to it a few times when it first came out. Haven't checked for them since then.

The Daft Punk song that was sampled was "Technologic" or "Technologique" or something. It's okay but imo not really great.

Their first album, Homework, is pretty good but it's as "obvious" as the poppiest Fatboy Slim stuff. Not that that's terribly bad, but just kind of dated and doesn't hold up well after repeat listenings. Anyone who was up on the electronica wave of the mid-to-late 90s knows what I mean. If you're just hearing this stuff now in '07 for the first time, I dunno what you'd think. It seemed to work well ten years ago because the genre was pushing itself into the mainstream.

For their second album, I recommend "Digital Love", "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", "Face to Face", and if you've never heard "One More Time", that was the single that MTV picked up.

The Neptunes did a crazy remix for Harder Better Faster Stronger back in the day.

Daft Punk is the GOAT french house/electro group.

I have Homework on CD ( got that a year after it came out when I was in 7th grade) and a couple of singles from that album on 12"...
I have Discovery on CD and 2 x 12" and had the daft cards that came with them...
I have the D.A.F.T. DVD...

I'll just say I'm a fan and leave it at that.

It's overtly Neptunes. It must have been years ago, before Pharrell started taking his singing seriously.

As far as electonica goes, it really gets no bigger than Daft Punk. I think "Revolution 909" was the first dance song I really liked. Their DJ sets are underrated, as well, if you're into house music.

They're good but they're nowhere near the best out there if we're talking Electronica. If you're talking early acid house or funky house they had a big hand in both those styles.

Aphex Twin is better in my opinion, but there's many other more underground groups that I never remember the names to.

I said "bigger", not "better" :smoker:

They are damn good, though. I'd take X-Press 2 over them, personally, but Daft Punk is good enough for people who aren't into underground electronic music.

oh word? you're right, you did. My bad. You're right, nobody is as big as Daft Punk. It's a strange genre that never fully took off apart from them anyway.

PROPS for that Neptunes remix.

And I dunno about Daft Punk being the "biggest", no disrespect. I would put the Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Air, and the Chemical Brothers at least on their level.
