Props on the link (got it yesterday). It's cool so far. Sounds like they definately made a conscious choice to depart from their previous sound. Album also seems a lot "softer". dunno, I only listened str8 through once. Im definatley feeling a few songs but I can tell the entire album will have to grow on me.
I'm not a fan at all. I have no idea why I bothered to download this, I must just be bored
Oh yeah, Rick Rubin. It sounds like he barely touched the album, just like the RHCP one

listening to it now, they def changed it up. Some of it is nice but I like the old sound better. There first two cds I could listen to the whole thing without skipping a track.
i'm not feeling the last four racks on the cd.
they said they made like 80 songs and this is the best 12 they got? I'm dissapointed with this cd.
only songs I like are Given Up, What Ive Done, Leave It All Out To Rest, & No More Sorrow.

I forgot Rubin produced this. I couldn't tell at all.
This album was like all the less exciting parts of everything it could have been. They "experimented"? This is exactly what anyone would expect the album to sound like based on their last one and based on Shinoda's album.
I know it's called "Minutes to Midnight" but the Anti-Bush stuff really puts me to sleep. What is this, 2004? I wonder if it ever crossed their minds that the U.S. isn't the only militant nation in the world with nukes. Could you imagine them having even one line in there alluding to Kim Jung Ill or Iran? Of course not. That would actually have meant taking a risk, which is something Linkin Park has never done in any way shape or form. Yes, personally I usually don't like hints of politics in my music (though there are exceptions, like P.E.), but I was afraid the whole theme of this album was going to turn out so utterly predictable, and it did. I wish they didn't have to choose any theme at all. They're actually GOOD at making songs about vague emotions, instead.
Still, the sound of the band remains interesting.

LOL. I don't care enough to agree or disagree... that sh*t just sounds funny.

Ya... and nothing stands out more than the rest...
Very boring, no risk factor in anything...
Sad thing is, I almost cared about this album after the Fort Minor release- Oh Well, I guess I will remain a Linkin Park quasi-fan
