I love Terry Brooks. I have been reading him since I was in 7th grade. But I have to admit, I've fallen off of his series just because I have been so busy and reading other things. But, this summer, I am def gonna re-read the Voyage of the Jerle Shannara series and continue from there as I actually own the next couple of books after that trilogy.

It's supposed to read like 'realistic fantasy'. Stupidest ****ing concept I've ever heard of. They kill off the dope characters to make it 'realistic' Stupid ass ****. I thought the book was way too long and went overboard with its 'realism'.

The series after that is also tight. What I love about the Shannara series of books is that the many references made to our civilization made me wonder if he would tie in the Knight of the Word series with Shannara. Turns out my suspicions were right. He does it in the first book of his newest trilogy, 'Armageddon's Children.'
Terry Brooks is an excellent storyteller. I say he's excellent because he writes great books consistantly. The only writer I think is on his level is Raymond E. Feist. His books are piff. I think my favorite book of his is A Darkness At Sethanon since that was the first book of his that I read and it blew my 11 year old mind at the time.

I thought those books were very good. I got lost by the fourth one though. Too many plotlines and POVs to keep up. I'll come back to it though.
George RR Martin is a very good writer. Robin Hobb too.
