I've been a fan since Boy in Da Corner.

This dude is pretty good, most popular English rapper right?
Or is that The Streets..

Anyway I can't wait to hear 'Maths and English', and 'Sirens' is the shiznit.

Youtube Quality:

Brilliant Quality:

And great explanation of the video on this article, I didn't know the video was so loaded with symbolism.

i swear the english grime/hip-hop scene is brutal, if one of them amkes any success in the states, they're considered "fallen off"

Nah that's just people being d!ckheads, if anyone becomes sucessful they're considered sell-outs, quite sad.

they're not considered "fallen off" when they make it. People jus dont rate them anymore because they ain't keeping it real to the scene anymore. They dont do pirate radio no more, no raves etc. They're seen as "commercial" when they make it

No, its just that the Sidewinder B2B with Wiley Dizzee >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This Sirens Beastie boys crap.

and yeah he probably has sold out to that Transmission Channel 4 crowd, nothing wrong with that music businesswise, but don't mean you gotta follow him too if you don't like the new stuff, it aint your football team.

why does the grime scene have this punk rock ethos of success. Like any success is bad. That is usually a sign that most people doing it, listening to it, buying it are middle class twerps who could live off their parents comfortably if they chose to do so.

its not that, its just that the final products can be far removed from what you liked about them in the first place. If they aint making the music you like anymore, why should you still like them? If I hear the first two songs from the new album and they sound like something else then I aint bothered anymore, sorry. If Jay-z went speak n spell over weird beats would you still buy?

you know what, I don't mind anyone selling out to be more popular

Take this track: http://nautilusrecordz.free.fr/blog/*****hole.mp3 <- ***** = pus_y

Another one off his album.
It's great, takes a sample of another song.
Not a big commercial deal due to the chorus, but very accessible.

no he means like it appeals to the most amount of people.

people say dizzee sold out coz he grew as an artist and started to make music that appealed to a wider audience, but started to alienate his grime fanbase. if thats the music he wants to make then let him make it and stop complaining

That would be okay if this 'wider' audience was actually bigger.
