no matter how much you try to repent
you will never recapture that innocence
the done deed will remain an imbedded stain
withstanding all tides refusing to wash away
it was silly of me to think that it was safe
to go out testing the strength of one's faith
I toss and turn through many sleepless nights
frequently awaking fully knowing the reason why
yes the answer is known worn like a harness
for the benefit of my chagrin that is tarnished
the proverbial fork in the road was upon me
and I boldly made my choice undauntingly
fully aware of the consequences a life sentence
of regrets under achievements,personal bereavement
and when I say that it is not worth it, believe it
funny how we tend to do away with rational thoughts
for the thrill of an adrenalin rush at the risk of being caught
the worst thing that could happen is to get away with it
because you then get carried away and you stay with it
instead of just walking off for you know that is what's best
but it's hard to walk away when you have become obsessed
remorse is felt after the deed is done still you move on to the next one

Wow! HJ, you hit home with this one cause I've been struggling homie - trying to remain true to what I know is right but like you said...
"funny how we tend to do away with rational thoughts

And I know if I do what my other parts of my body want me to do *clears throat* I'll only want more and become obsessed so as long as I can read pieces like these and know staying away is the best thing for me I'll be alright...
Felt' as you would say lol

Man, Thanks I.D. appreciate being appreciated, I think in our own way we all inspire each other. So I send that complement right back at ya'. It's good to step away from the plate from time to time to gain a new perspective, I know that I've taken a break my dammy for a minute. I am glad to hear that you are ready to slam so get on down with ya' bad self, my emerald lovin' brother from another mother.

Sexxy Dee - There is no doubt in my mind that a Sister will "do the right the thing". We all have been down that road a time or two, this piece was my way of making a short story long if you will. You know what they say about trouble "it's easy to get into but hard as heck to get out of". I just wrote this to use as a reminder or to inspire me to keep on but I am glad it was felt especially by you of all people, Thanks.

I'm glad you have so much faith in me HJ! I need to grab hold of some of that but so far so good...and I def. know that saying and I'm trying to stay clear away from the old favorite "I told you so" as well...
Thanks for the words of encouragement!
