From what I've noticed, most of us play bass instead of those other instruments. But it is sometimes hard to figure out hip Hop songs, especially when songbook and tabs are not available.
Post hard to get Hip Hop tabs in here. Also interesting video links

Anybody know how to get this sound? I came sort of close, but I'm not there yet.

Aight, got help from ppl at tabit.net, then modified some stuff, and put it in tab form. Hope you find these useful ...
Pardon if spacing isn't right for you. These things are headaches to write up. I prolly won't do anymore. haha. Just look for the good ones.
EDIT
No B string is needed in this song. For the intro, I put the B string notes on E. That's the proper way anywayz.
Aaliyah
Try Again

I created this using a midi editor template
So I leave the measures with no bass in there

A :2-2-2-2-2-------|0-----------5---|----------------|
E :----------------|----------------|3---------------|
B :----------------|----------------|----------------|
Here's an alternative to the intro on bass. I like the above version better.
All I did was put each note on a higher string.
Intro part played on bass
Play 6 times
G :----------24--------------|
D :19-21-22----24-22-21-22-|
A :--------------------------|
E :--------------------------|
B :--------------------------|
Then this once
G :-------------24-22-24-22-|
D :19-21-22-24--------------|
A :--------------------------|
E :--------------------------|
B :--------------------------|
and finally this once
G :21-19-21-19--------------|
D :------------22-21-22-21--|
A :--------------------------|
E :--------------------------|
B :--------------------------|

has a few. You pretty much have to search the name, and it's annoying sifting through them. But it's a good collection.
There is still more to find though ...

I've been playing for about 10 years now. When you join a band, make sure that you're the weak link. Your playing will take off.

Seriously! I did that and had to keep up and my chops took off! Two weeks after I started, I was on live TV, and two months afetr that, I cut my first record as a bassist. I got thrown to the wolves early! Now I get free equipment!
