I can't think of any. I was a big fan of Hanson's comeback record though. Thought it was a great pop-rock album.

It's more of me having to explain why I like something. Or folks being surprised that I like something.

Tha's kind of the way I felt (and still feel) about The Cardigans' "First Band on the Moon". I bought it when it came out and thought it was one of the more solid albums I've ever owned. But back when I bought it, that was when "Lovefool" was the biggest song at the time and everyone thought I was weird for liking the same band that did that song.

They had a song called Red or something right? I didn't think it was terrible. Isn't dude brothers with like someone in another known band?

I always get Chevelle and Trapt mixed up for some reason.

haha yeah "the Red" is a song of theirs and his bro is in the band with him. i remember hearing them the first time thinking "these guys sound mad "Tool-esque"...been a closet fan since. i guess you get them and Trapt mixed up cos they both got short dark haired angst filled front men. the main difference between them is that Chevelle doesn't suck horribly. haha

addition: UB40
i'm a bigtime (closet) UB40 fan :ninja_1:

stereolab because their music is so...i can't think of a better word than cute.

a lot of john frusciante's work is hard to like, cause he was strung out on his first couple (and if he wasn't he sure as hell sounded like it vocally). then sometimes it feels like he makes high school graduation music. you know, that sh*t that plays and everyone's all teary-eyed like "i'll never forget you" or something, lol.

You should be ashamed that Ice Cube is in your top 3.

He shoulda retired after Death Certificate... that woulda been a nice way to go out. But, no, he had to contradict himself with songs about "pimpin" and "ridin"... and corny lyrics to boot. That's what should get :thumbsdow .

I don't know any rappers that haven't contradicted themselves. Poor showings later in careers shouldn't erase what they've done in the past.

Aw. I was just fukkin around really. I used to be a Cube fan. For me now though, he ain't a top 3 emcee. But I won't pretend that my opinion is objective or authoritative or even that it matters.

Back to the topic of the thread: It depends on context. At certain times and places, I might be embarrassed to admit that I like people like Prince or Bjork. On the Internet, though, why would anyone be ashamed about anything?
