yea, i'd hate it when my fuccin coach made us run sprints and was talking sh1t like, "y'all gonna need some buckets today, y'all gonna be running ur asses off" when dude couldn't run a 20 feet without stopping for water

but as a coach i understand y u make ur team run, it conditions them to win, just cuz ur a f@t fucc u cant sacrafice ur teams conditioning

but trainers...thats diff.

I hear you. I went to Ballys to find out about a Job as a trainer and they were dressed in tight ass shirts. One trainer looked malnourished and the other had a gut and love handles. If you're gonna train try to look like one.

A lot of Teachers have a lower IQ than some of the students.

As long as they're telling you what you need to know and aint jealous with it its fine.

I ain't going to a dentist that has messed up teeth.

I had a trainer at 24 hour fitness who used to bust jokes at the other trainers who were fat and wondered why no wanted their services.

His teeth aint my problem, his years of studying dentistry are, and he can't do his own fillings anyway :D

Some of them trainers could've been athletes that got injured or something.

it's cause most of them are unqualified to begin with. You aren't going to find a true professional trainer working for your local gym.

Where did you get that idea from. Do you know who Charles Glass is? Many have their own practices outside of the gym also, but they also work there.

Works at a Golds Gym Venice, but many pros and trainers train people at their local gym that they work out in

I agree...

But to the the thread starter...I agree with the thread concept...I've seen this at the gym too like "why should fat people be allowed to train"

Diggy you are talking about Venice Golds Gym. I'm talking about your ordinary suburban town's gym.

as much as I agree, it's really about their knowledge and the results they give you.

I know my step-dad is a trainer, and he's kinda big/chunky. But he played football/basketball all his life, was even pro at cornerback. He has a lot of clients who work with him, scouts for a couple of NFL teams, tests techniques before he recommends them, been training for a few years.

I know I want to be in the best shape before I train anyone, but i'm young. and being in shape doesn't mean being a bodybuilder, an athlete, etc. Just someone healthy, and if a trainer knows how to get you healthy then it's up to you to choose him. Check the shape of his clients that have been working with him alot, or ask them about him.

appearances can be deceiving tho.

I know a PT who is well-muscled and cut, super low body fat, always working out... But dood smokes like 35 bong rips a day (no lie) and his diet is crap, mostly cheap instant noodles and cereal!?! Plus he's dumb as a bag of rocks.... yet he'd get more respect as a trainer than a less cut dood? he def does not deserve it IMO

I think you just gotta go w/ur gut (no pun intended) and balance that with common sense, research & second opinions. I'd rather deal with a less physically perfect but smart trainer than someone like I described.

Not yet,i still need to get my cert. I took the workshop and have all of the material. The organization that I got it from is thorough, theres alot of anatomy and physiology so I need to give myself at least 4 months worth of studying before I can even attempt to take the test.

Ive been slacking on the studies tho, I had some stuff going on and you know how issues are, they deter you from stuff you are trying to accomplish.
