If you listen to that makaveli album you can hear Pac throwing bait out for Jay to bite. Pac had way too much popularity for Jay to handle at that time. Its kind of like LL vs Canibus x200. One of Jay'z's biggest pop singles was Me and my girlfriend which sampled pac's song with the same title. If he publically beefed wit pac that song would never exist today. It was only a matter of time that Pac was going to ether Jay Z the same way he did biggie. Lets be honest, if biggie never got shot after pac dissed him he wouldnt be recognized as the great rapper he is.

according to some of the people on this site 2Pac would've cured cancer, prevented 9/11 and had been the first person to land on Mars if he was still alive.

Are you serious? Pac in 96 vs Jay in 96 woulda been bad for business if you're Pac. Jay didn't have the same reasons to keep hush on Pac that Biggie did and it ain't like there wasn't a ton of ammo to hit dude with back then.

All I know is Pac is arguably the best to ever do it. I'm still amazed at the fact that this dude was murdered at the age of 25. Look what all he accomplished musically in that short ammount of time. I mean theres still music coming out. The stuff that came out while he was alive is timeless sh*t.

Now compare that to how old your favorite rapper is, or actually compare it to how old you are and what you've done.

Check out the DVD 'Thug Angel' and you will look at Pac in a different light.

Why didnt Jay Z say anything then? Pac was vocal about Jay Z, If im not mistaken, he was the one who made up the name Gay Z.

No question.word. Don't get me wrong. I like a lot of Pac's songs. He had amazing energy when he spit. It's like he meant every word. Also, the man had an great work ethic. Like he would record all the time. He was very passionate (n/h) and emotional. But some of these kids put him up on this pedestal parallel to Ghandi. Not saying the thread starter is like that btw I'm just saying these 2Pac fanatics make "stans" look tame.

Sad to say but it was the beggining of the end for Pac in 97 and on anyway.

Puffy and them were bringing in the shiny suit jiggy era.

Pac was still holding on to early 90's millitant anger.

Jay's jiggy flow was coming into play, and Jay would have looked like the new up and comer, while Pac would have been looked at as old school hatin on the new rookies....

No question.I agree w/ this, but Pac would've sh*tted on Hov. Or atleast public opinion would've gone in Pac's favor if they beefed.

Pac would've never went at Jay. Why? Because he had no reason to.

Here's a little known fact. According to Hussein Fatal from the Outlaws the original version of "Hit 'Em Up" had Pac screaming on Jay at the end, just like he did Mobb Deep, Chino XL, etc. Fatal told Pac it's not really a good look to diss Jay for no reason, and Pac took that part off the song. Pac wanted to diss Jay on some hip-hop sh*t, like to start a little battle but he didn't because that wasn't really the reason Pac was going around dissing people. He was dissing people he felt he had legitimate beef with.

Also, all the other random people Pac dissed (De La Soul, The Fugees, etc.) were never supposed to get dissed. The songs were recorded but Pac never wanted them released, so if Pac would've lived half the people we sit and talk about Pac not liking, we would've never even known he dissed them. He recorded the songs IN CASE people said sh*t about him, and they got released along with everything else after he died.

If you don't believe me look for the Fatal interview on Youtube.

The fact that some of the stuff Nas said about J on ether was already said by Pac proves the validity of the threadstarters arguement

Yeah, but what's ironic is the fact that if Pac was alive to go at Jay, he wouldn't have, so we never would've known he had a problem with Jay. The only reason we can have a conversation like the one here is because he died and all the people he dissed in songs he didn't want released, got released.

I don't know about all that
but jay-z wouldn't be in the position he's at now if pac was alive
He would have been exposed and put out on front street

Its a shame when the most hated rappers on this site are the only one's on the east coast to really get at pac

naw man im talkin bout j-hood the rapper. Thought u named yourself after him...

but yea i think we're getting off topic. Pac had more people that loved him more than he had people that hated him. That cannot be disputed. And im talking bout ginuine love. Whether or not he was acting or not, thats another topic. But at the time he and suge was running death row.

Jay-z would have easily used the whole thing to blow up waaay more than the world trade.imagine all those pics of pac half naked during his ballerina days on the summer jam screen.aint no way a fake dude who presents himself as this super gangster is going to come back from that kind of expose.'when i was pushing weight, back in 88 u was a ballerina'

there are several songs where Pac challenges the Camel, ...like the song "All Out" "Jaaaaaaaay-zzzzzzzzz.......come out toooo plaaaaaaay"........"busting caps at Jay-Z"

lets be honest... pac is only respected by young kids (that don't know better) & white boyz (the ones that don't know **** about hiphop).

yall pac fans aka fools... say all the time that pac destroyed every rapper he diss.
but every rapper he diss... never fell off (biggie, jay, nas, snoop, dre etc...)

blah blah blah...

these are two of my top 3 rappers... Jay is the Best Rapper of all time... including Pac. technically Pac couldnt fukc w/ Jay, no one can. But Pac is the GOAT. He transcends the genre, transcends music. Pac wasnt a dope battler, that wasnt what he was about. The best he could do is portray others as fake and not as real on wax as he was. Jay woulda hit him with a "Takeover" real heads woulda seen that Jay won the "battle"... but Nas stans woulda said Pac won.

in the end Nas lost.
