Need a mic recommendation

Can someone recommend me a good mic?

I'm a beginning mobile DJ, doing birthday parties and sh!t. I've been looking at Shure mics, but they cost a grip, and I'm not sure if they live up to their hype. What would be a good mic to start off with?

i'm not a fan of Shure but the hype is for a reason. they may not be the best mic for you but they are a good mic on anyone of and very durable. buy the right (or at least a good) mic the first time or buy the cheap ones frequently.
