Moodymann http://www.myspace.com/moodymann313 he does crazy atmospheric stuff, love the way he uses background noises on the track... apparently he's one the true old school innovators, kinda slept on
And almost anyone on Om Records http://om-records.com/ esp Kaskade, Mark Farina, Marques Wyatt, Greenskeepers, DJ Heather, AfroMystik (they're not house... but still bumpin)

House? You just bumped into the right mothafukka. Hold on, weren't you the cat who asked me bout some house jams? Um... i don't recall. But any who...
Yeah, you should really check out the OM site Elle was referring to. They deal with downtempo grooves and chill house (it's they forte). I recently purchased a fiery compilation from the label titled, "Om: Winter Sessions" and it's a double disc that's sold for the price of one. But don't let the quantity fool you. The duality of the compilation would probably fend off the average consumer, but it is rather laced with some hot shiit throughout the albums (mighty consistent).
Hum... here's a groove of from one of their releases.
This was a huge hit last year. It's a tune by Samantha James. This jam knocks in the whip, regardless of your race, religion, creed or sexuality; this is a good jawn. Unfortunately, OM is an indie label and for the most part, their music isn't distributed very well (and i appreciate that you venturing off to new soundscapes, real talk). Actually, i prefer shiit like this not make it to mainstream radio; i'm selfish like that. It makes for better appreciation when it's not saturating the game. Singularity is entity.
Any who...
Tell you me how you fell about it.

(a faux-compiled video by random you-tuber = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9gFGfAF9O4 - the song hits though)
And here's a bonus track.
More dancy, but the bassline is something infectious like coke to the dome, 5 lines, chill 2 spines.

And here's another one. This is a joint from the Cleptomaniacs featuring Stevie Wonder.
This beat KNOCKS like that Army fort in Kentucky. You dig?!

Oh yah... let's get into the more urban side of house. Growing up, i always admired the Chicago House scene that so exclusive, yet monumental at the time.
I didn't have the money or resources to tap into the genre, but you can tell the a many of the thriving artists of dance music during the late 80's/early 90's were highly influenced by the sounds of Chi-Town house grooves.
And it's prevalent in todays music as well (although, still relatively underground, so to speak).
And speaking bout Timbaland... here's a well-concocted remix of Justin Timberlakes SEXY BACK. It's has "CHICAGO HOUSE" written all over the production. Get down and "GO HEAD BE GONE WITH IT!"

Ahhh... here's Kenny Dope and Terry Hunter's rendition of Mr. Chicago Himself, KanYe to the's ADDICTION (also another spawning gem from the area of which generated this sound, although the style of production sounds like it could have been made back then, for some reason, it sounds as fresh and updated as ever before. Perhaps i'm biased cuz i'm such a house music afficionado/connoisier).
It's quite the aural eargasm if you inquire me about it.

Here's a classic groove from the mid 90's. I'm sure you're all familiar with it, but it's been mixed a little bit to conform to todays house standards of pound and sound (with multi-layered instrumentation that makes it the wedding cake of dance tracks).
Another Kenny Dope production as he does his little bid on the Bucketheads - THE BOMB! (and it is... The bomb!!!) AYE!!

Check out the jam!!!!
And if you think these are the best of the genre? You're in store for more. I got so much house, i may as well just switch my profession into a real estate agent. You dig?!?!?!
