ok, so this has been something I've thought about for a long time & I'd like to start taking steps to making this happen. as far as I know there's no real boxing scene where I'm at now (nc), but I'll be back in ny soon & am looking for some female-friendly boxing gyms, also info on finding a coach. if there's any boxers in here, any advice is appreciated...

offtopic: "I slapbox with Jesus, lick shots at Moses".. did Rae say that? or Ghost?

try looking into kickboxing, more specifically martial art orientated ones like Sanshou, which is popular with the women in my area..... naturally since the legs are the strongest part of the female body (maybe the male body too, fuk do I know)

are you looking to spar with opponents or is this more self defence/cardio inspired?

ghost said that...

I've never heard of sanshou before, I'll look into that. I agree that my legs are the strongest part of my body (which may have alot to do with playing soccer for years), but I'm really looking to increase my upper body strength. I guess I'm just wondering where somebody interested in boxing would begin.

i'm sure theres boxing clubs/gyms in nc, maybe some not populated by rednecks. if you havent googled it already, theres a listing.
