Man. :(

It just makes me want to fold my arms and stare at the floor.

Know anything similar to it?

its one of my fav parts of before the dawn heals up but i never really took the time to pay close attention to it until i saw this thread.

the playful kids' voices in the background contrasted with the somber music def brings up a depressed/nostalgic feeling right away.

but in terms of similar music... im guessin you already listen to Sigur Ros but if not it will amaze you.
though i hate to say it, moby actually has a few songs very similar to this: Into The Blue, Everything is Wrong, God Moving over the face of the waters, and When it's cold i'd like to die are all really good somber/borderline depressing electronic/instrumental songs by him.

Broken Social Scene's instrumental album: Fell Good Lost

The clientele:Loosing Haringey- its a depressing song with the lead singer just talking about a depressing summer

Explosions in the sky- any album from them, but the Friday Night Lights soundtrack is their most somber album

I love this album. Let men burn stars is kinda similar I think.

I havent heard any news on a new album yet, hopefully there will be one!

I dont really think of it as depressing, more 'wistful reflection' to coin a phrase from a review.

M83 are/is amazing, both Dead Cities..... and Before The Dawn Heals Us would make it on to my favourite albums list.

And I think perhaps Be Wild is more depressing than I Guess Im Floating.

It'll be a massive shame if there's no new album.
