Finally got to pick this up, good light reading for when nothing good is on TV and school work is too dense... who read it? watchu think?
The protagonist is cute, a good girl w/a lil edge who loves all types of music and falls into writing for a hiphop mag in NYC... story is really compelling if ur into music and or journalism... Steven & Felicia from SOHH.com get a huge shout right at the beginning.... lol
from amazon:
For fans of the movie Brown Sugar, this story about hip-hop and the music industry is a page-turner. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Sophie sets out to make it in New York. She no longer has the voice of a singer, but she can write about her love of music. Her first gig, as an editorial assistant, is not the most exciting job, but it is the beginning of her career in music in NYC. Working at a magazine helps her create and launch a voice for herself among music lovers. Her professional life and personal life seem to be one and the same, and that begins to pose problems for her. She falls for someone who is unavailable and makes love to another who has a reputation for loving and leaving. When she decides to put all her energy into her music and not other distractions, the things she wants begin to happen.
