I'm currently 6'2 and a 1/2, with long ass limbs. This shyt is good for the ladies because us tall men pull alot more brawds. But when you tryin to get your weight up and look big it ain't wassup. It's getting hard to put some new size on my arms. I have turned to a new exercises called spider curls but I know i'm about to hurt myself if I keep doing these it's a little too much pressure on the muscle fibers. Then my bench suffers because it's a long way down and your can't increase that shyt like the little men.

are you serious?

Im 6ft3

being 6ft2 or over 6ft and over, makes looking diesel alot harder.

For me to look diesel I have to be like 220+ and its hard to be that size and lean without a lot of work or knowledge.

Why do you think most bodybuilders and like 5ft something and they look so damn big at 200lbs but a 6ft guy has to come in at like 300 or so to even compete with the shorter guys

obviouisly the more you weigh, the more weight you SHOULD be able to lift. Obviously if you're taller you SHOULD weigh more. Im 5'10", 175lbs...at your height..i would say 200-215 u would have the same "frame" as me minus the height...It's not like an advantage i have over your cuz im shorter...no its not "easier" for me to look more diesel...ITS HARD FOR EVERYBODY. Ofcourse u cant be 6'2", 6'3" at like 190 pounds expecting to be diesel looking...that would be like me at 5'10" at 155-60 complaining, lol. Dawg it took me a minute to get where im at. These are the things people say that DON'T work out as consistantly and hard as they think...so they make up excuses, lol. No disrespect...but its the honest truth.

bout 7-8 years ago i was 160 at the same height i am right now....max benching around 215.....right now im same height...175lbs...max bench in the 315-335 range somewhere...workin out HARD consistantly...in those 7-8 years i've never did any less than working out atleast 2 days a week...1 hour to 1 hour 1/2 workouts. Now i've reached my plateau at my weight and height and i've been there for about a year now...just maintaining what i have. Shyt aint any easier than what you have to do dawg.

50 CENT IS LIKE 210 RIGHT NOW...dude has NEVER even been over around 220 pounds...and he's 6ft-6ft1....LL cool J is the same height and weighs LESS than that niqqa...cmon man lol

Wlad klits the boxer was 6'5", 240 in his prime....when he was o'din on weights...dude looks swole as fukk...

dudes be like 6'6" and thinkin they SHOULD be the same weight as muhfukkas at 5'10"" n shyt lol..your natural weight SHOULD be more than me diggy..without even trying. So ofcourse you have to lift more weight to get the same cut or "diesel" look i may have...that's all im sayin.

At your height....if you were just 205-210...you could look diesel if u were working out like i am...forreal dawg. I think you may just be underestimating how hard us shorter dudes work to get the look we get. I can just look at your avatar and tell that you have a lot more to go in swellin all that up at that weight...when u get that crazy muscle it makes you look way bigger than you are...trust me.

Its true shorter people have the advantage in execution of the actual lifts, but being tall or long-limbed won't hinder actual mass gains like you say. I'm 6'4" and I've always had long arms (35 inches arm length), but I never had a problem with getting up heavier weight. Being taller makes you learn new techniques and grips along with positioning to make your lifts just as effective. Its just a matter of finding the proper comfort zone and running with it.

right..i think he's getting it confused with that. What i got from his post is that he has to work much harder to get the same look as a shorter person...which isnt true. For example...a shorter person could probably lift more REPS on the bench..than a taller person, and still get the same effectiveness out of that set. The number is not what's important, it's how much strain you're putting on that muscle group. That strain and intensity could be the same between the two, even tho the shorter person may get a few more reps than the other person. It's simply because of your longer arms you might have less reps, but you may even be getting a better workout when its all said and done.

Also obvious the taller person would have to spread their grip more.

Exactly; quality over quantity in this case. As long as he is feeling the actual workout and doing it with proper technique the gains will come sooner or later.

I also must question his recovery and diet; too many people overlook these two crucial components of gaining mass.

Yall niccas trippin, if you put 20 inch arms on a 5'7 nicca then put those arms on a 6'2-6'4 person whose arms will look bigger? I'm not saying it harder to put on mass and muscle but shorter people do have the advantage when it comes to look bigger easier.

**Oh yeah I have diet and recovery covered.

word...this is a quote from a fitness forum a guy said to me

"Looking good bro, you deff got a good base. I know it's tough being a tall guy and trying to put on size, but I'm sure you'll get where you want to be.

wow...dawg i didnt mean LITERRALLY. Do u know what i mean when i say same frame? A 5'10" man and a 6'2" person...for them to look "the same" FRAME WISE...as in relative to height...the taller person would naturally have to weigh more than the shorter person TO have a similar frame. Do you not understand that.

For diggy...that whole thing is a myth..take it from somebody who's been studying and doing this shyt for years. It's a myth because it is indeed harder for people with longer limbs to do the same amount of reps a person with shorter limbs on certain excersizes (for example..the bench press..have a longer way up and longer way down)...BUT those are just reps...numbers...the actual EFFECTIVENESS of your lower number being a tall person could be equal to what a shorter person's effectiveness is while doing a few more reps more than you. People that don't know. what they're talkin about will look at that shorter person doing more reps and assume he's stronger than you but that's not always the case.

I'm sorry but that's is not an excuse...bottomline...if you're 6'3" and just around 210lbs...if you worked out like i have...you would be just as "yoked" looking as me...and you would not have to bench 500lbs dawg, lol. Dawg i will post before and after pics of me at similar weights with the difference between a casual workout and consistant intense workout...if you saw the pics u would think i've gained like 20lbs.

How much u weigh right now diggy? I'll give ya azz a workout and i guarantee if you stick with it for 6 months...u will be YOKED, lol. Now if you 6'3" at like 195...u need to put on some few pounds first lol

i get what you're saying. i'm 6'4" and used to feel the same way. the fact is, shorter guys may have an easier time getting swole quick...but if you put in work, eventually you'll be bigger than a short dude could ever be. if you're having problems getting bigger/stronger, it's because you hit a plateau and need to switch **** up, it has nothing to do with how tall you are.

whats your workout?

Never-lie Jenkins
03-02-07, 11:06 PM
whats your workout?

I do upper-body only 2-3 days a week....my workout is a 1 hour..sometimes 1hr 15 minute workout

4 sets of 225lbs on the flat bench press...with about 2-3 mins rest between each set....ofcourse if you're just starting out you don't need to go that high but thats where im at right now. NO set amount of reps on the bench...do as many as u can do without a spotter on the first 3 sets and use a spot on the last set going hard. Again, dont set an amount to stop at each set, many people do and are defeating the purpose, gotta fatique those muscles because that's whats gonna get you muscle growth.

3 sets of sitting military press with dumbells. Again, burn out every set. Right now i stick to just 55lb dumbells. This will get your shoulder and trap game CRAZY.

3 sets of shoulder shrugs with dumbells...again..will get your trap game crazy.

3 sets of sitting row pulley (this is the excersize where u sit down and bring the pulley to your midsection right below the chest area). This works the back area and that section under the pits that "wing" out.

3 sets of tricep pulldowns on the high pulley. Now some people use the V-bar and do it with 2 hands, i like to use the one handed handles and do each arm separate.

The last thing i do is hit 3 sets of situps with a weight plate on the diagonal bench (forget the real name...but basically the benchpress you can bring to an angle downwards). Now i've worked my way up to doing this with a 45lb weight plate..took a MINUTE to get up to that though...so start with something like a 10lb weight plate and keep at it. After awhile your back and midsection will get stronger and you will be hopping up in weight. If you do these consistantly you will get your ab section CUT. The added weight helps a lot.

...thats basically it. As you can see i don't have a bicep workout in there. I actually separate my bicep workout from my big workout. 2 Days a week i do standing, alternating curls with dumbells. I do burn-out sets. What i do is start off with the highest weight i can do for about 10-12 reps...burn out with that...then without resting....i pick up the next set of dumbells which should be about 10 pounds less...burn out....go down 5 pounds...burn out...keep going down til u get to about 15lb dumbells and just burn out. You only have to do one round of these. This will have your arms feeling like they're about to explode, lol. That's what you want, definately fatigue's the bicep to the max and they will grown quick with this method.

Now this workout is if you want to reallly cut up and get some mass along with it. Definately isnt a casual workout, but if you want cut up quick and turn that fat into muscle...i guarantee you will get yoked if you do this consistantly AND eat right to help recover the muscles. I grab one of those 50grams of protein shakes after every workout to help recover and take one before sleeping at night.

I'm gonna try and see if i can find my before and after and upload...i kept track of my progress when i started this workout...big difference after about 6 months

no disrespect homie but that workout isnt that great imo. youve probably just got real good genetics if youre making gains like that

youre working your traps as hard as your chest almost

you have 1 exercise for your back

a regular person wont get yoked with that plan, its hard to see anybody getting yoked really with it

My back workout yesterday was

3x10

hammer strength high row
hammer strength iso behind the neck pulldown
t bar row
dead lift
shoulder shrugs

pullups to failure

I guy i knew from the gym..when i first joined...got me on this workout...he's yoked as fukk...i hopped on it and been on it ever sense. This is me at 5'10"..170 pounds.......im 175 now and in even better shape

keep in mind...my walk around weight before getting serious into lifting was around 158-160 pounds....before pics comming soon

I know my workout looks akwards to the typical guy in the weight room TRYING to tell you how its done, but theres a different workout for everyone and i'm not mad at the results this gave me

sidenote....to dude sayin i only have one excersize workin the back...benchpress, military press...hell even shoulder shrugs help out the back ...all these excersizes combined affect the back muscles...sitting rows just focuses on it primary....

for my frame to look like that at my height Id need to be like 210-220 with under 10% bf

People say I look big at 215-220 in clothes but Im not how I wanna be at that weight.

I am dieting down now, I really dont care how thin I look to my meat head friends, but when I bulk up I know I wont be adding extra fat on top of fat thats already there.

I have a more athletic look right now, but I need to get back to my 2002-2003 days

well maybe u do...cuz im 9% bodyfat...but you also got me by like 4-5 inches in height...so that weight is about where u should be anyway if me and you did the same workout....so that's not saying its harder for you...its saying if u went as hard as i went u could get a similar looking frame. From lookin at your avi tho, u look like your body fat isnt even that high, it just looks like you could cut up more...that muscle u gain will make you look bigger than you think...which to me is just saying u need to hit them a lil harder and consistantly. I don't know what ya stats were in that avi pic you had, but i think u could do just fine with that weight.

But yea...210-215 is a nice weight for your height...just work with it man...hit those weights hard and consistantly...work some protein shakes in there (the average person doesnt get the right amount of protein)...and you'll be good....i think you could get the same frame.

just gaining muscle makes you look much bigger than what your weight really is...i was just lifting with Greg Jennings (nfl wideout for the packers)...he's listed at 5'11" 197 pounds....if you looked at him and looked at me u would think we were almost the same weight....he's got me by like 20 pounds and 1-2 inches in height...but he doesn't really hit the weights as hard as i do due to his position (recievers dont really lift to get massive/yoked)...

If I cut up more Ill drop weight definately I still have bf to lose to get my abs out where they need to be. Once Im lean enough Ill do a nice clean bulk, I been eating well for long enough now that junk food kinda does a number on me.
