View Full Version : Doing Stairs
Hey, im tryna get right for the spring/summer so i know im going to have to do lots of cardio. Things is im more compfortable doing home workouts, i got a bench, weights, and stuff, but no treadmill. It's winter now and i think its too cold to go for a run , plus i might i get sick. My question is how effective is running up and down stairs? Is there anything else i can do that the equivelant to running for 20 minutes?

I don't think that would be very effective. It takes an amount of intensity while doing cardio to lose weight and I would imagine it would be hard to keep intensity running some stairs in your house cuz ( probally aren't many). How about jumping rope for 20-30 minutes? That sh!t will get you right.

No it does homie. Basically what you sayin is that nicca can walk his stair a few times every night (no intensity) and lose a significant/noticeable amount of weight. You SOHH niccas are ignorant when it comes to fitness. Threadstarter get a $3 jump rope and do HIT with it and I guarantee you will lose more weight than running some damn stairs.

Who said anything about walking? Also the average apt/condo about 10 floors high so your trying to say by running from the 1st floor up that the thread starter won't see a difference and lose weight? lol come on
Nah, i would of been doing them in the house. Running up and down full speed for 20 minutes. But i think i will jsut jump rope.

Stairs will get you right quick, but it can be annoying if you just doin it in your house. When I was runnin track in HS we ran stairs more than anything else in practices/conditioning. It drains the hell outta u but it makes regular running feel easy.
