I've been trying to put on weight for a minute....now I'm really trying to get serious in to it so I can put on some weight and look good for this trip I'm planning in the late summer....
Anyway, what are the best protein shakes out there to get and for those who take protein shakes, how many do you take a day?
And I mean the shakes that are already made, not the ones that come from powder and you gotta mix it yourself
Thanks for your help!!

Muscle Milk is a great pre-made drink you can find in just about every vitamin store.
From one of the bottles you'll average around 330 calories, and 32-35g of protein, depending on the flavor you buy(there are 7 total I believe). If you really want to put on some size, go grab 2 of them. To go one step further, you can throw 2 of the pre-made bottles into a regular shaker and mix it with 1 whole cup of dry oatmeal. Oatmeal is slow digesting, which will benefit you over night. This also adds an extra 150 calories.
Try this a few times and see how it works for you. If you're not completely against the powder form, go buy a 5lb tub of BSN True Mass. Mixing 3 scoops(which is there recommendation) with 16oz. of water will get you 650 calories, 75g of carbs, and 46g of protein. For added flavor, mix with fat-free milk, which then gives you 800 calories, and 62g of protein. The first time you drink one of those bad boys will put you out of commission fast. Enjoy!
Hope this helps.

Shakes are fine but you need to up the actual food intake to gain weight. Aim for 5-6 meals a day, preferably from calorie-dense foods. You should be eating every 3-4 hours as a rule of thumb and like already said, definitely eat before bed.
Muscle Milk is a solid choice, if the price is too steep just pick up some ON 100% Whey Protein and mix in Whole Oats and Natural Peanut Butter in a blender... taste is incredible.

I was at GNC yesterday because I read in this women's magazine that diets high in fiber and protein, block fat storage and help you burn more. I bought muscle milk, and figured I'd replace my snacks with them. They are 230 calories for 11oz so I figure I could include them in my diet and still stay under my goal of 1600 calories a day.
Am I using muscle milk incorrectly??

Depending on your size and activity level... Start off with one scoop and 6-7 oz. of water and keep active, I can't stress this enough. If you didn't purchase yet, they put out MM Lite, so you can use the exact same amount and end up with less caloric intake. Choc.-PB is really good.

I bought the pre mixed kind, and its 230 carlories for 11ozs. I wanted to drink one while at work. I do about 2 15 mins walks during my 8 day and maybe drink one right after I finished working out. How does that sound? And what is your take on the high fiber, protein diets

Avoid taking it @ night. Depending on the time (after 7pm) I would not reccomend taking it. A six oz chicken breast will satisfy your protien requirements without adding too many calories.
Seeing your goal is about 1600 per day, I don't see a problem with you taking one between walks (H is the real expert though) to make sure you burn more calories than you take in.
About the high protien and fiber diet, I have not heard about it being able to block fat storage but any diet that is low in fat and enriched grains are ok by me. To enhance it, use 1-200mg caffiene (supposed added stamina) along with L-Carnitene (Carnitine transports long-chain acyl groups from fatty acids into the mitochondrial matrix so they can be oxidized for energy).
