I've got Love Travels At Illegal Speeds and its very good. I was surprised at how much I liked it.

Do you like him better in Blur, or do you think his solo stuff sounds better?

One of the reasons why he left Blur was that he had no creative say so in the band. Now Damon wants him back for the new album. He's practically begging Coxon to come back, but Graham won't budge.

Albarn's said heaps of times in interviews that Coxon was the reason they changed their sound from the britpop style to Alt. Rock in 1997 with Blur. He had a huge influence on their sound, because the only album they did without him was basically electronic stoner rock. There were personal problems with Coxon and Albarn fighting over creative control of the band, and when they went to Morocco to record a song or two with Fatboy Slim Coxon gave up.

Albarn definitely wants Coxon back for the next album though. He said in one interview that if Coxon didn't want a part of the album they were just going to make a big sounding, 'stupid' album and leave it at that.

Another reason why Coxon left the band was that he was a heavy drinker during Blur's heyday, and he was spiraling out of control. He said in an interview that he believed that the band was not supportive enough to tell him to stop drinking, and he could have killed himself basically. This made him take stock of his priorities, but his feelings toward the band began to sour.
