Hello,

This year I have decided to get myself in better shape. I'm 5'11 and weigh 310 lbs (yea, I know I'ma fat boy). I graduated from high school in 2002, where I was then 245-250. The cause of my weight gain is having a sedintary job for the past three and half years where I just sit at a computer all day and don't get much exercise, while also eating like a pig. Well recently, I've altered my diet and started going to the gym in our office. So far, I've lost 20 lbs because when I first started last month I weighed over 330 lbs. Now, to my question. Is it better to lose weight first then build muscle, build muscle first then lose weight, or do both simultaneously? I don't mine being big, but I want to be a toned big, not fat. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

im on a similar path... but i was in shape once, so we have that different.

I'm 5'11, 255. One week into my comeback. I started at 260

I was 165 freshmen year of hs, and 175 freshmen year of college. I'm 23 now.

I'm working out 3 times a week(weights and running) and just eating better. I'm following the Abs Diet mostly. Goodlook on your path to being healthy.

The goal is to do both at the same time. Cardio and weightlifting. You could run 4 days a week and lift weights 3 days a week. Remember, when weightlifting, progress in the form of either lifting heavier weights, or do more repetitions. In running, progress by breaking your record times.

Its best to do both.Bulilding muscle or "bulking" requires a high caloric intake. You dont want focus on that too hard. A balance of a good diet and workout is the best. Cardio is your best friend, helps build stamina. I start out with a well rounded wieght lifting routine and progessively move toward specific muscle groups, while doing 20 minutes of cardio daily.

Like homeboy above me said gaining muscle requires you to eat in caloric excess. I mean you fat so you don't wanna do that because you might be gaining muscle and all but you will end up looking fatter. If I were you I would go on an all out diet, incorporate cardio, and focus on compounds. When you get down in weight incorporate some supplements and continue to build up your physique. In your case this may take 2 years but keep at it, just think of the bytches you will be getting. That's my motivation, ya dig?

I don't know too much about fitness, but if anything, try upping the ante in the cardio department.

Seek for ways where you can become more active in your daily lifestyle (whether it be walking to work, taking the stairs, jogging to the mailbox, etc.)

At your stats, you should really be concentrating on shedding that excess weight first before you bulk/tone up.

That way, if you decide to get lazy, that mass won't be converted into stored fat cells. Rather, if you lose that shiit now, it will somewhat take more time to rebuild granted you get all lethargic in your workout regimen.

I can't stress cardio, eating healthy and drinking tea enough. It's the ultimate trio combo that can combat most individuals looking to lose weight and maintain a healthy look. When you look good, it raises the fukk out of your esteem and confidence. Real talk.

You boy verb used to be a tub of lard until i decided to take matters into my own hands. Women didn't want a thing from me because my fat would always cover my dyck. Now the only thing that is being covered are jizz stains on a girls lips. You dig?!

Run run run... stay mobile. Even when you're not doing anything, try to do something. If you're watching tv, do jumping jacks or purchase a stationary bike and position it in the living room, real talk.

Whatever it takes, it's all about being active.

You can take over the world like that, playa.
