They don't like the way I write
sometimes I take it as a slight
every now and then I get a bite
dwelling in the shadows late at night
but because I chose to be polite
play it off and don't get up tight
let it blow so that it will not indict
to those who say my style ain't right
"what u see is what u get" without da sike
I let it roll off my back and take flight
brother gonna do his own thing in spite
simply understand my stand's a plight
my penning does not require a recite
documenting my hopes desires and frights
ignoring those wishing I would take it lite
cause I be putting pen to paper with great might
getting prepared and equipped to make heights
