Made portioning my chicken easy...I just cut it till I get 40 grams worth of protein per portion. Its nice because it gives you a nutrition label display of what you have on the scale by weight:D
I had to use the setting for turkey cuz the idiots that printed the book with the codes printed page 9-10 two times and didnt print page 7-8, so I gotta call and get them to email me the proper code.

That's a nice scale. Mine just gives the number in oz or grams. Hmm i might have to cop that fancy shyt.
if you do that can i have your old crappy one?

Sure. You gotta pay shipping and handling though.
SOLD! LOL
okay that's fair. i'd have to look into how much that would cost. it might be more cost-effective to just buy a new one.
i like the bells and whistles on the one diggs posted, but really i just need something that'll tell me how much something weighs. i have a hard time trusting digital anything anyway.. when it comes to machines like that, i mean. i wish they'd make mercury thermometers again, those sh1ts were crack.

cool display... can you program ur own foods into it?
Diggy_Dat_Niggy
02-05-07, 06:49 PM
Yes you can program your own foods, it allows custom codes and stuff
As for femme, it does tell you weight like a regular scale in oz or grams...last line says weight, but Im looking for protein content on my meat sources (no homo). For grains I need weight.
it says its accurate to .05...
heres the pdf of foods it has stored in it...has tofu and other stuff

are these really worth the investment? whats the advantage to owning one?

If you count calories or you want to control portion sizes they are good. I mainly use it for measuring meat and poultry.
i like the calorie king and calorie counter websites.. but i'd like to get a scale, too.

Well now I know the chicken breasts I am eating is overkill because its like double the amount of protein that I need at one sitting. It makes portioning out foods extremely easy so your diet/ eating habbits are pretty much dead on. You add more of something it shows the weight increase as well as nutrient figures. I am very satisfied with this item.
Im going to measure out a portion of brown rice according to the box, cook it then measure it bu cooked weight, so I can make a huge pot of it and just portion it out by cooked weight and put it into tuppaware containers with the portioned chicken.
It also tells you the estimated caloric intake from settings that the govt has so you can get to your dietary goals easier. I really need to total up everything and see how many cals Im eating per day, but what ever Im doing is working because my strength is up and my bodyfat is down.
I just wanted to make eating more efficient for myself and walking in to Target to get this was great. It looks and seems much better than the one at walmart thats 10 dollars more expensive
Femme there is an analog scale for 5 bucks, you can buy it to double check with the digital reading just to see if you trust it or not.

This scale says chef mate but the company that makes it is called dmd I think, thats what the customer service number says. Its not bad for 40 bucks, I've seen more expensive one with less features than this one.
I got a tuperware container with saran wrapped portions of chicken, this makes eating right so easy

right now I shoot for 200+ grams of protein and keep a moderate carb intake with healthy fats
Its basically the same shyt everyday cuz I cook for the week. I use jerk seasoning on the chicken breast and eat it with brown rice, make sammiches out of it on 100% whole wheat. I have a shake with my oatmeal in morning and one post workout. Im eating about 5-6 meals, no less than 5
This weekend Ill actually fine tune it and get my calorie totals proper, but Ive lost alot of fat already within the month Ive been dieting, lifting weights and doing cardio. Ive even skipped cheat meals and kept it straight.
I think if I do this for another 3 months or so Ill be where I wanna be then its maintenance after this due to my health being better so I can goto the gym with no problems.

Diggy has a chef mate and that's a really good brand. He actually has a really dope scale all together. I don't know what brand mine is, but it is digital but it doesn't have the bells and whistles the other one has. I just use mine to measure portions so it serves it's purpose.
What would you want to use it for? Once you figure that out it'd be easier for you to start shopping for one.pretty much what its used for monitoring how much you eat it. It could make the weight gain/loss process more easy when you know the exact amount of what your eating

makes it easy as hell, Just spend one day cooking, measuring and packing portions and you have no worries for until you are running out of portions or have to do it again.
I been going at it since sunday...I still have like 3 days worh of stuff left to consume. No thought goes into my meals cuz they are there waiting and portioned properly.
After I get ripped, Ill stay lean for a bit and do a clean bulk back over to the 210-215 range instead of my usual non strict bulks
Im not trying to lose a certain amount of weight but Im at 202 from 210 a month or so ago:ohmy:

ok....but from what i can tell its a regular scale...but it has all the nutritional information for a lot of foods preprogrammed in it...right? how do you trust the accuracy of the preprogrammed stuff? plus i eat a lot of random shyt i doubt they have programmed in there so i would have to do a bunch of custom shyt anyway.
i guess it seems like for me it would make more sense just to use a regular scale and fitday.

Ive checked it against fitday and other sites and its about the same, if theres anything I dont have I just find out and program the #s in by weight and Im set with a code for that food.
It makes things easy for me. If you go over weight it compensates automatically and adjusts the macros...Not all my sirloin patties = 1/4lb exactly..sometimes I do 1/3
I eat random stuff also but steak, fish, chicken, veggies, pork will always be constant.
Do what you find easiest for you but its convenient
Most of the time I just shoot for the protein amount on the scale that Im looking for per meal
