I don't really follow the whole 'grime' thing. Is that what folks call it? I feel like an asshole calling it grime.

But can someone school me on the Lethal Bizzle vs Roll Deep beef.

Info on Dizzee Rascal.

What are some must have records. Anything would be great.

Do peopel respect that dude The Streets?

UK Hip hop >>> Grime, but that's my opinion, I don't listen to enough to give you some good cd links sorry

No idea about any of the beefs, never enjoyed following that.

Get yourself over to the UKish section (http://www.guerilla-radio.com/forums/index.php?showforum=16) and get some albums.

Science Faction - Grime (http://www.guerilla-radio.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14428) (This is a really good album)

DPM - Street Grime 3 (http://www.guerilla-radio.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14800)

Roll Deep - Rules & Regulations (http://www.guerilla-radio.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14580)

Loads of single tracks (http://www.guerilla-radio.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14618)

Poomplex - Boy Better Know Ed 2 (http://www.guerilla-radio.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14760)

Are UK hip-hop and grime the same thing?

Are UK hip-hop and grime the same thing?

No, grime is closer to garage / 2step etc

Sounds more electronic. . . . yet more grimey (the name fits how a lot of the beats sound)

Example:

http://www.plunder.com/Lethal-Bizzle-Forward-Riddim-2-download-2980.htm

I love this track, heavy beat with some random gibberish spit over the top. best thing about grime if the energy. Sometimes they say fukk all over the beats, but there's plenty of great lines too.

Example of gibberish, but heavy beat combined with energy and humor:

Murkle Man!!! (http://www.ukish.co.uk/blog/?p=65)

Then there's your standard spitting about the music kind of track:
Tinchy Stryder - Underground (http://www.ukish.co.uk/blog/?p=8)

Track talking about gun problems:

Roll Deep - Badman (http://www.ukish.co.uk/blog/?p=33)

More Humor

Bearman - If you go down to the woods today (http://www.ukish.co.uk/blog/?p=6)

I'll re-up the promo later today (after work)

I'll knock together a mix with deeper grime tracks, something I should have done a long time ago

Look out for anything by The Movement (Ghetto, Scorcher, Wretch 3 2, Lightnin, Mercston and Devlin) if straight spitting on grime beats is your thing. Also check out mans like Faction G or Purple cos lyrically dem boys are flying away.
