These 2 songs are 2 off the best songs i heard this year:

2 incredible songs that had all the music publications geeked. The rest is nothing special.
What's with the criteria for a good british band these days being a co-sign from Oasis? dudes sucked back in the day.

It's a very good album, but not an instant classic like every magazine would publish it as.
If you really want to hear them at their best then go download the demos. The demos were floating around the net and played in most indie clubs a good 12-18 months before they got a deal. When they went into the studio they lost the raw sound in my opinion. It was a little bit polished with a hollow vibe.:thumbsdow

If you are the sort of person who COULD have liked it, you're about 12 months late. You missed your change to jizz all over it and pretend that British rock music was BACK, that the progression from Beatles, Stones, Smiths (I don't like them, but they fit in), Stone Roses, Oasis, etc, hasn't ALWAYS, ALWAYS been one of diminishing returns.
Yeah, they might have been the best new British rock band of the last 2-3 years, but you have to be an absolute tool with no sense of perspective to even care about that. You have to be the sort of person who lives for what the magazines say, and lives their life under the umbrella of "culture" defined by top 100 lists made by people whose livelihood DEPENDS on there actually being critically acclaimed music for people to get excited about, whether that acclaim is actually ju$tified or not. Anyone with any sense knows how pathetic it is for THIS band to be the "best" at anything. But there has to be a new "best" band every 2 years now.
At this point, dude, you may as well wait another 6-8 months and the "next Artic Monkeys" will be right there for you if that's what you're after. You can buy into them and "feel a part of them" and have a leg up on all of the people who aren't cool enough to have found out about them yet.
