Beans and Free werent really rocking the whisper or the bouncy flow like that...Free has his own style.
Chris may have that philly flow, but jay took that from him once he brought it around jay

Jay knew that Chris would be the future of the ROC and you know what? Hov didn't like that shiit, so he did the young guns like he did to everyone else who seems to have the probability of dethroning Hov (not exactly, but many young, bright stars on the ROC had a hard time trying to find their niche in the game cuz of greedy ass hov).
There was a solo joint that Chris made back in 04. it was an ode to Jigga man's retirement. It was on that one female dj's mixtape, SUNNY (i believe). I got it on a cd, i'll try to up it later. But the joint was the truth. Mellow track and Chris rips it all whilst paying homage to the ROC's pioneer.
And let's be real. Young Chris stole the spotlight on Chain Gang Vol. 2 and Tough Luv was a very slept on album (personal fav).
Jigga pretty much blackballed them and hindered the Gunz chances at ever breaking through like they should have (they have major commercial appeal, if jay promoted them right, even their sophmore release could have seen a gold plaque... he didn't even attempt to release that joint with 112 as a single... shiit was tight!)
I saw so much potential for Chris (neef was straight, he was a decent director and could rap with the best of State P). I'm just dumbfounded as this is one of those urban anomalies that will never be answered. Fukk!
I'm just venting, but real talk; Young Gunz were the future and i had a surefire confidence in them (at least Chris could have had a solid solo career). Not even close to the dudes and i'm frustrated as fukk. I don't know what to say anymore.
Remember your first reaction when you first heard "can't stop won't stop?" Shiit was a banger in the clubs and you could hear those "dings" a mile away. Shiit was serious.
Young Gunz... still in effect in my eyes.
Peace.

I have this tape of the Roc on hot 97 and Chris was one of the dopest ones spitting. But he wasn't ever going to dethrone Jay. None of those Philly dirtballs were. They were all dope though.

To this day, Chain Gang Vol. 2 & Tough Luv are two are my favorite albums. Collectively, i thought State P had so much potential. Young Gunz also did a mixtape before Tough Luv dropped, that was fire. I'm stil checkin for all of these n|ggaz whenever they decide to pop up again

I couldn't agree more. On the low, the ROC was supposed to really put philly on the forfront of east coast hip hop. Even other philly ni99as was eattin off of Rocafella exposure (i.e. State P vs. Major Figgas). But it fell apart now philly further behind than any movement with Peedi, Gunnerz, and Free forever on the shelf. These ni99as gotta do dumb sh!t just to get heard (i.e. dissin Juelz for not shakin ya hand, signing to G-unit, etc). Beans apparently cant even speak on sh!t cause of his legal situation and Cass in a fukin coma. Nobody outside of the city takin any other philly cat seriously. SMH
